WTT: gift card for membership

Postby ATC_Matt on Sun Jan 09, 2011 2:34 pm

Looking for a member with at least 1 year of membership to this site (paying member) and who has at least 200 posts in this forum who will, in exchange for a 25$ American Express US gift card, will give me a membership to this site. I will send the card information first. You can then check the balance on a website, americanexpress.com/mygiftcard. Once you have the balance confirmed, I expect you to send me my membership here.

TY to whoever can do this

card can only be used with american merchants

To clarify

-card can only be used in USA. so if you are an american, it works like a debit card. If you are not american you don't want this.

-Not doing markup for this. 25$ for 25$, that's the value of the card.

Why does the person have to have 200 post! That doesn't make sense.

If you don't have 200 posts, I will still consider doing it with you, but the reason I suggested 200 posts is reputability. Since I'm sending first I want to be comfortable that I'm sending it to a trustworthy person who will follow through...200 posts kinda shows you've been around and are an active member of this site. However, the IMPORTANT thing is that you are a paying member of this site.

So, if you are a paying member but don't have 200 posts and would like to do this, let me know.

you should proablly ask a mod (one of the people with colorful names that distract me) they are people who work for the site.

I am a mod, I do not "work" for the site, as in, I do this in my spare time and I do not get benefits, financial or otherwise(well i do get the stacked dice every once and a while, and the girls really dig it ofcourse... sigh, nothing really!). Anyways, i do not think many mods will have the ability to help here., but you can always ask.

Can you give me details about the card? Can I use it for online transactions? Have you already tried it to buy premium? If I can use it online, then I'll give it some thought.

AOG, seeing as you will only have the number, not the actual card, whoever does this had better hope they can use it online ;)

edit- he is right, if you click on the paypal button near the bottom right, you can pay with AmEx, your gift card should work

There's tax, so it would be more than $25 which is what the card is worth.

The card is 25$. Tax is independent of what you're paying with. If you're buying stuff online, any tax is figured into the price of whatever you're buying, the card works exactly like a debit card, you do not receive charges for using it. or not using it.

Also - I will mail it to you if you really want to use it offline. Not a problem.

Right, but there's still tax on the membership itself.

I'm not sure that it works with paypal as I tried to use it to deposit onto here. But they rejected the card. It say they do accept american express. I don't have an account with them so whether gift cards work is something to ask their customer service. The best use for this card would be online gaming, amazon.com, or I can mail it to you and you can use it just about anywhere.

So...why don't YOU ask their customer service if they take it?

I emailed them several hours ago as to why my card was rejected (they DO accept AE), waiting for response

Like I said, there is tax on the membership itself which then makes the total greater than 25 dollars.

no offense, but really? I am from the Netherlands, when a customer pays, vat or taxes is always included in the price already. And i pay more then americans because i cannot pay in dollars so my bank exchanges them at an invlated price, but still 25 dollar is 25 dollar.. i think. obviously i do not know the real value of the card. that could change things, but otherwise 25 is 25. I just rather have hard currency as well, but other then that i see nothing out of what here.

and no i did not make battle royale games, i dont have the tiime to do those things, forum modding takes time when i can give it, br's take all your time right away

It's standard in US / Canada to have to add the tax on listed price.

ATC - why's it so difficult for you to pay for the site? You're listed as being from US. Give the gift card to parent or RL friend or something have them use it.

You really going to give someone a $25 gift card and spend $4 mailing it to them?
