School Horror Stories

Postby DirtyDishSoap on Sat Mar 24, 2007 1:06 pm

Well Luns wanted me to make this little topic so here we go

Anyone out there feel like they got a good Horror story that involves your life at school? or do you feel that schools stupid, the teachers are somewhat stupid and you basically hate all the students?
Let us know! :D

heres mine

my math class, teacher is horrible, she'll take for about a half hour telling what us to do for an assignment due at the end of class which gives us 15 minutes to work...ya
also theres this jackass in my class that talks a whole bunch of crap to her and she does it back then the class goes chaotic, then he leaves to go to security, and everyone else still is talking, but it always somehow leads to me like im the pushover in the class, "Sam pick up the chair, Sam Your assingments due now everyone else i expect it tomorrow, Sam is there a way for me to be less bitchy?!"Thats my routine day in class

My horror story

Postby luns101 on Sat Mar 24, 2007 1:16 pm

I had 2 kids in 7th grade World History who did absolutely no homework. Called the parents but they didn't care. They never turned in the semester project, which was to build a medieval castle. They rarely got above a 50% on any test. So at the end of the semester I turned in my grades to the office and failed them both.

Two days later I got called in to see the Vice-Principal. "Why are you failing these 2 boys" he asked. I told him that they did no work, never participated, and couldn't care less about what we covered. His response, "Give them a D so they can move on to 8th grade". "But they didn't do anything to deserve a D" I answered.

His reply:

"It doesn't matter. We received a call from their parents who are threatening litigation. We don't need the bad press even if we are in the right and they aren't. Besides, we get funding based on the # of students who pass...so change the grades".

hmm...two years...in 7th and 8th grade, i was beaten, shoved into lockers, the teachers would blame me for stuff (like denting the lockers)...i couldn't do anything right in class, i'd bring up valid points and get sent to the principals office...i was bullied to the point where i wouldn't get up in the morning and i developed two ulcers...when i would report stuff, the students wouldn't get in trouble because their parents worked in the office (small private school)...it ended when i got suspended on the last day of school for calling my mom during class because i was in the bathroom crying and i wanted to go home because the teacher had made me stand in front of class while she yelled at me for failing her class...when i should have gotten a good grade, i did the work, and did it well...but i didn't do what she wanted...they passed me in the class just to get me out of the school...but i wasn't allowed to walk at graduation...(not that i cared, i wasn't planning on going anyway) but it meant not getting to say goodbye to my friends who i haven't seen for three years now...

I got a story too- lets see..... We once had a sub who was a complete fatass with multiple chins. I dont know how but we got into a heated debate about Americans vs the rest of the world in everything from education to weight. This guy is tellin us that Americans are fat, lazy, dumbasses (which i agree with) but he shouldnt be the one to talk. My grade has a tendency to gang up on any sub, so we made fun of him till he was at the verge of tears. We then told the principal who quickly told him to leave. Haven't seen him since....

Postby I GOT SERVED on Sat Mar 24, 2007 2:28 pm

Hokay, so here's mine:

The setting: April Fool's Day, Freshman Year of High School (Age 15).

Me and a few of my friends had planned out a few harmless practical jokes. Like tying door knobs together with a piece of string, putting gummy worms in kids' shoes so when they put their feet in their shoes, they think there are worms in them, putting flour in kids' umbrellas so when they open it, they get covered in flour, etc.

But the biggest prank was taking out all of the furniture in our dorms lounge and putting them outside.

So all of my friends wake up early to set things up. We set up a few tricks, and got ready for the Coup d' Grace, the furniture sweep. It only took us a few minutes to get the furniture outside. But after about 5 minutes, our house director saw us, and called the campus security.

Shortly thereafter, me and my friends were talking to the deans of the school. All of us were raised for dismissal. But fortunately, the headmaster of the school decided to remove the raising of dismissal, and offered a lighter punishment. Instead, me and my friends just served countless Friday night dorm restrictions.

Dodged a rather large bullet on that one....

school horror stories. no horror for me i guess, i enjoyed it.
i was kind of a problematic/brilliant student.
i only did homeworks for what i wanted i got in fights every week but my luck was i enjoyed some classes so much that i participated in olimpics and even got good results (in the country finals). because i was so good at some classes my teachers passed me at the others because i was an olimpic
they kinda got the mentality that my school is proud to have an olimpic and my image should not be destroyed by getting bad grades and being expelled. only once i almost got expelled when i beat the crap out of a girl and her boyfriend in 8th grade. basicaly she lost 2 teeth and the guy suffered a little more (2 black eyes broken nose and a broken arm). my parents were called to the school principal and i got my behaviour grade lowered from 10 to 7. they ruled i was in self defence

I wont go into details, but my 6th grade teacher purposefully embarrasses kids and yells at them in front of the class if the forget their work or don't do it (I'm not one of these students)(why can't she just give them an F).

Not really a horror story, but when I was in 9th grade, out band room was cleared out because we were setting up for a concert in the performing arts center. Our band room was set up so there were different tiers or levels for each row, and I thought it would be cool to get a running start and jump down all 5 tiers, so yeah, I landed half a foot shy of the very bottom at the edge of the second tier and fell forward pretty fast and got a compression fracture in my wrist.

We were playing floor hockey last year (Sophmore year, 16) and our P.E teacher would play with us sometimes, he'd shoot and score and run off jumping off the bleachers and stuff yelling "GOAAAAAAAAL!"
later on that year, this scrawny looking kid scores and does the same thing as our Teacher, except when he runs off of the bleachers he fractures his forearm, kids thought he was faking his falling so we all started kicking him so he would move off of the court (werent really kicking kicking him but you know hard enough to let you know to move)
he didnt move the rest of period, the next day he comes with a sling and we all basically laughed at him

That's very admirable. Are you close to graduating? For me, I chose the Marine Corps upon graduation.

Junior High is definitely tougher to teach than high school. Junior high kids judge people/things based on appearance mostly. High school kids are just starting to develop what they believe in, and the reasons for their beliefs. Also, I've found that the closer they get to graduation, the more they want to ask my opinion on things because they know that the fantasy land that is high school is about to end and real life is about to begin.

That is really sad and unfortunate. I was frustrated always breaking up fights, especially when teaching high school. After awhile, I noticed myself becoming complacent because security/other staff started thinking I was being too sensitive.

I can't imagine why a teacher would treat you that way - totally unprofessional. All I can say is thank you for sharing that so others can learn what not to do.

I'll be posting more in the future about how things appear from the teacher's point of view.

That'd be nice. I've always wondered what it was looking from the other point of view.

Also, I'm starting to consider career paths, and being a teacher was one that I kinda liked. So I suppose the more info you give, the better off I might be.

Its more of a personal thing...Rather not talk about it

I have one more year until i graduate, trying to make up the classes that i fucked myself over last year, wasnt smart on my part so im paying the piper this year, actually almost have all my credits, 13 more considering if i do summer school dim it down to 8 maybe less, all in all i'll do okay by the end of next year :D

Why didn't you change school or something or wasn't that an option?

Looking back at it, school was a breeze, I should easily have been able to enjoy more or less all my classes and get 75% or more on every test that didn't have to do with German or history.

I wonder what happened.

/rambling on
The one subject where I was able to do well by doing practically nothing was english, usually because I was better than the teacher in grades 11-13 (had had a native speaker as a teacher the 4 years before that). It really was fun not doing the homework and then making something up on the spot that half of the others would have needed the better part of an afternoon to achieve. Or those perfectly on topic, practically flawless homeworks that went against everything the teacher expected ("runaway girl finally writes a letter home after being absent for two years" - she now earns her money as a professional whore and definitely NOT wants to come home again), that works best with young and inexperienced teachers, or teachers who like you and have a sense of humour.
/rambling off

Oh man... school as such IS fun, it's just that you don't realize it when you're in the middle of it.

i begged and begged and begged...by the time my parents figured it all out, it was to late...i was three months away from graduating, and they thought i could make it...barely, but i did...and hey, it made me who i am today in school...which i'm told is a good thing, but i'm not to sure...
