Meanwhile, US-ally Bahrain today bulldozed a thirteenth Sunni mosque and NATO (US) took no interest.

    - The Libyan Army have had to destroy 4 mosques in a country of 6 million people and Obama fired 150 cruise missiles at it.

    - The Bahraini Army has destroyed 13 mosques in a country of 1.5 million people and Obama made a stern phone call to the Emir.

The leader of the Bahraini communist party, Dr. Ibrahim Sharif Al-Sayed, has disappeared, rumored to be under guard by the Emir's secret police according to his daughter's Twitter account (http://twitter.com/yaraalsayed). But this is not a pro-capitalist US-backed revolution by "rebels" fighting to bring Whole Foods, SUVs, Levis jeans and American Idol to their country ... so no mention of Sayed in the state-run US media NPR/FOX/CNN is made.

Let us hope that, in Syria, Dr. Assad is far too smart for a gaggle of discontented Lebanese immigrants and their CIA handlers.

I don't know that. All I know is he's a brilliant young physician whose jealous, exiled uncle wanted to be President and has sought NATO support to put him in power.

However, if I weren't 60% certain you're logging-in to Conquer Club from a certain fortified facility in Tampa Florida, I'd be okay if they made Pirlo the president. :P

The State Department has been secretly financing opponents of Syrian President Bashar Assad, The Washington Post reported, citing previously undisclosed diplomatic documents provided to the newspaper by the WikiLeaks website.

I find it rather interesting that when it is the people of a country considering regime change America gets worried. When it is America fermenting regime change, then the press is strangely silent. I would have to be a very cynical man to think that the only reason for american interest in the middle east is oil. No country could be quite so greedy, and so short sighted. Could they? I wonder whether it is only an unintended by product of intervention, that people hate america(whilst not always hating individual americans). Could the american government really be trying to create a siege mentality in its citizenship. Could america be inviting hatred, so she(yes nations are normally referred to as female, that makes "uncle sam" a trannie?) can then tell her citizens that everyone is out to get them, and that striking first is a good option. Doesn't seem logical. Though on second thought.... Stranger things have happened.

Depends on the news sources you expose yourself too. Obviously, if one is going to tune into nothing about American sources, then one is going to get one typical version of the story.

BBS has succinctly provided his opinion on the question of the CIA-backed revolutions in Syria, Libya, Tunisia and Egypt in viewtopic.php?f=8&t=140538. It's unreasonable for someone to expect him to retype it in full in every new thread that crops up.

saxi, these revolutions started because people are pissed off. 2 years ago, I expected a revolution in the region, but i thought it would start in 2015. it started sooner than I expected. the reason is that mt measure was based on Egypt, but Tunisia went first and inspired the rest when a guy burnt himself.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohamed_Bouazizi

when I read "The French Revolution" book, I found that france in 1780s had the same factors of this region 2000s. especially after 2001, no job, no money, no immigration and war in Iraq and constant Israeli brutal actions made the whole region poorer & pissed off.

the revolution factors were all ready and just needed a spark. and it started when that guy burnt himself.

get your head out of the conspiracy stuff and see the disgusting reality here.

What I was trying to make you understand about what you typed is that it's misinformed. Perhaps, I was way too polite in suggesting such an idea.

To understand such complex situations, one has to learn from a main source of such ideas (like those from the Institute of World Politics), and from my limited worldview, one should examine such events with a good grounding in history, geopolitical strategy, national security, business, and economics.

France did and they didn't. They set up a very nationalistic government. Robespierre was way ahead of his time in that 1) he considered the state to be the embodiment of the people (Communism), and 2) he exploited the nationalist sentiments of his people to amass very large armies very quickly (call it fascism).

Their government was oppressive, and that environment was extremely dangerous.

Sorry to get side-tracked, but it's not that these people are simply pissed off. There needs to be in place the organization which can mobilize the people and disseminate the poignant information to the right places at the right times.

f*ck YEAH! This just made my day.

Am I wrong or is this the first overt Russian deployment to a non border country since the Yom Kipper War?

I'm guessing they're not going to send an air army without putting a battery of the new S-400s on the ground. Which means, as long as the Russians are in Syria, the Israelis will have to stop their occasional incursions into Syrian airspace if they want to keep their aircraft from falling out of the sky and their coward pilots from having to fight the Jaysh al-Sha'bi on the ground (who are reportedly tougher than Palestinian girls).

This good news deserves a music video!

Probably the base will have solid defenses... But I expect S-300(which were ordered by Syria couple of years ago), really no need for more, Israelis or anyone around doesn't have planes/missiles that could do something to S-300. And Israelis will no longer disrupt Syrian airspace until Russians leave(if they leave )

Oh helllllll yes!

DEBKAFile is now reporting Russia is preparing to send ground troops, which would explain the aircraft deployment I suppose. DEBKA says that Russia considers a direct threat to Dr Assad by ISIS (or presumably also the fascist Tel Aviv regime) a "red line" that won't be tolerated.

http://www.debka.com/article/24858/Russ ... into-Syria

No other details, though the VII Guards Division is closest geographically to Syria. Just like in 1945 Russia is, once again, putting it all on the line to single-handed save civilization from fascism as the rest of the world stands by slack-jawed.
