You can also make it to the Throat of the World by just hiking up the side of the mountain. I've found at least one path that was do-able with some effort.

CreepersWiener wrote:That's interesting. I have yet found any use for the Ethereal Thu'um. Force, Fire, and Frost...that has been my most used Thu'ums. And the one Thu'um that I thought I would never use was Kyne's Peace Thu'um; however, sometimes I just don't want to fck around with cave bears, ice wolves, and other annoying animal crap as I journey across Skyrim. Just as easy to use Kyne's Peace on them and keep going to your destination.

Whenever I'm traveling about on foot and exploring, I usually have Kyne's Peace toggled on in my favorites, to deal with the annoying Bears and Sabre Cats. It lulls them and makes for an easy non-aggressive kill afterwards.

You got to the throat by going up the mountain...the blizzard winds didn't injure you or stop you from going up?

I guess when my one handed is 100, heavy armor is 100 and my char is like level 49 bears and sabre cats dont really phase me at this point....shoudlve used Kynes peace earlier i guess.

1) I have been avoiding buying this game for fear of divorce.

2) Is the game worth $54.99 plus $150 an hour for attorney's fees?

If so I am buying in the next hour, grabbing a gallon of Jack Daniels, and going to get obliterated and play the game for the next 5 days straight or until I run out of jack.

I didn't go up the mountain path. I literally climbed the side of the mountain to the top by running and jumping and zig zagging my way up what looks like an insurmountable mountain.

I can't speak if it is worth it for PS3 or X-Box---I've heard the bugs on those platforms can be difficulty, annoying, and crippling at times. But my PC version hasn't had any hiccups, and the PC Version also allows you to mod the game (and with very little work if you use the Nexus Mod Manager...which does all the installing work for you!)

I haven't had too many hiccups on PS3, but it hasn't been that bad. Sudden game freeze or character glitch will happen, just make sure you have important parts of the game quest saved...pretty much standard RPG practice. As long as I save frequently, I really am not too peeved about glitches in the system. Usually I get a glitch after I spend like five hours on the system (of which I should be finding something else to friggin do anyways).

33% off at Steam right now for 24 hours...$40.19.

Can't help you with the lawyer fees, though.

I had one awful glitch where I recruited a follower and gave her quite a bit of stuff. I was forced to have her leave my service as part of another quest and it turns out that she's bugged so that once she leaves your service she won't rejoin you. The only way to get the stuff back is to kill her.

Her name's Illia in case anyone comes across her quest.

I really miss Lydia! :(

Image

I had her along on the quest to Sky Forge. On the way, we had just killed a Blood Dragon and I had lots of loot. However, I forgot to save (as usual) and I ran into a friggin camp full of Forsworn! GOD I HATE THOSE GUYS! Anyway, she helped battle them all the way to the top of a hill where there was a Hagraven! She died just before I killed the Hagraven! Damn! For the first time EVER in a video game I felt virtual loss...I actually paused the game and felt grief over her death. Is this a sign that you may be playing too much Skyrim? Maybe I need to get laid?

don't take this too harshly... but enemies can't kill your companion, they can only bring them to low health

only YOU can kill your companion.

she died by your own inadvertent hand.

how does it feel??

Having travelled with Aela for awhile as well, mage followers > warrior followers. I'm also around lvl 30 now, so not much can kill me anymore. That helps.

Love Skyrim but I think the Witcher 2 beats RPGs this year...Just my opinion.

enemies CAN kill your companion. Usually they get dropped low in health and then run or cower down HOWEVER a strong enough attack from an enemy will kill them. Seen it in the forums, seen it in game.

OR something dumb happens liek they are in that low health stage and trip on a rock and die...

So far, I rarely use my companions in combat since the Ranger I have going likes to be all sneaky. I use Lydia as a mule though.

Or you cast a really strong spell with splash damage, Lydia gets in the way because she's a moron, and then she starts attacking you, prompting a reload.
