The idea that the public can get justice from the courts regarding crimes committed by police is just fantasy, as has been demonstrated over and over again. Really, we need a separate court system with defenders and prosecutors who are tasked with just pursuing police crimes and nothing else, which are then handed over to a specialized judicial panel (public of course) which will impartially evaluate the crime committed.
Of course, that will never happen.

I think a good question is whether this is a frequent occurrence because there is more use by police of excessive force or if this is a more frequent occurrence due to technology allowing us to videotape police using excessive force. I think it's probably the latter.

I'll say it again, just in case you yanks weren't listening the first time around.
America, land of the free.
What happened to your world leading rights and freedoms? They seem to have been waylaid by your paramilitary and political/judicial systems.
Wake up Americans and stand up for your rights and freedoms.

Shocking Video Of Kelly Thomas Beating Death Released. Watch With Caution.
The city surveillance video that shows a group of Fullerton police officers beating a homeless mentally ill man to death last year was finally released today, laying to rest any argument that Kelly Thomas was a threat to officers.

You're a fucking idiot. I hope that someday you never have to see what the pigs will do just because they can. Let's see how tough you act when a fucking truculent authoritarian who is above the law and has a gun is sitting on you, smashing your face in. The guy was homeless and schizophrenic, he obviously wasn't all there. Not only was the whole ordeal completely unnecessary, it was over the top. They could've cuffed him and let him tire himself out. Instead they had to taze him and crush his throat. There are tons of ways to restrain somebody without killing them.
And you claim to be an advocate for freedom, waving your "don't tread on me" flag around. What a whitebread motherfucker you are.

I believe that's your definition as well (to be fair).

My definition is "everyone should be free to do whatever as long as it causes no harm to others or impede their respective freedoms".
But hey, I guess you know what I think better than I? After all, you have so much more experience being me than I do...

Or, if your soul is not so withered and your mind not so darkened, you might find it less interesting and more disturbing watching an officer of the law beat an innocent man to death.
Just saying...
