I dunno, restate your position. I have a bunch of one liners waiting to use but I need a target first. Here are the next few in queue:

    - Don't you have an EDL rally you're supposed to be at?

    - Britain can't keep Birmingham from being captured by 15 year olds, how do they expect to defend Malvinas?

    - If it takes an armed response unit from the Met to keep one Brazilian from using the tube, how are they going to keep 40 million Argentines from using Malvinas?

History of the Malvinas Islands
an ongoing chronology prepared by Saxitoxin

1981: British parliament strips the UK citizenship of Malvinas residents with the British Nationality Act of 1981, despite pleas of the "Falklanders" to let them remain British. After the Malvinas War, to support their propaganda about the "right of Falklanders to remain British", UK had to do a quick PR spin and restore the citizenship of the kelpers by passing the British Nationality Act of 1983.

2012: Thirty-one years after yanking the citizenship of Malvinas residents (before sheepishly restoring it 2 years later), British are still crowing about how their only interests are the "desire of the Falklanders to remain British." LMAO!!!!!!

Yawn. More selective reporting from the anglophobe.

Truth is "British Nationality Act removes British nationality from any Falkland Islander who does not have a parent or grandparent born in Britain".

Yes, I'm pretty sure I got the British racial purity laws correct.

It also limited other basic citizenship rights, such as right to domicile in Britain, etc. (AKA "class 2" or "second class citizenship"). In other words, "Falklanders" can go screw themselves ... until '82 when they were suddenly needed as BP props, then they're delightfully precious and the UK is valiantly defending "their right to be British."

A Freedom of Information request to the UK government has just revealed that the country's entire Harrier fleet was sold to the U.S. while still in the middle of a £500 million upgrade.

The documents show that the Harriers were mid-way through the half-billion pound upgrade when the U.S. announced they needed used Harriers to cannibalize for spare parts. Within 30 days the UK had sold their entire fleet to the US for the bargain price of £100 million, meaning UK taxpayers "ate" £400 million. (Someone really needs to clue in the UK that the "special" relationship is actually an abusive relationship.)
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/artic ... ts-US.html

The UK went to war against Argentina in 1982 with 68 carrier-borne aircraft. After selling all their Harriers to the US they currently have 0 carrier-borne aircraft (their 1 aircraft carrier now only carries helicopters).

Good news, Sean Penn has joined with the civilized community of nations in backing calls for Britain to withdraw her war machines from the Malvinas and abandon her policy of colonialism.

Actor Sean Penn is taking Argentina's side in the Falkland Islands dispute.

Penn met with Argentine President Cristina Kirchner on Monday and then urged Britain to join U.N.-sponsored talks over what he called "the Malvinas Islands of Argentina."

Penn says "the world today is not going to tolerate any ludicrous and archaic commitment to colonialist ideology."

Other veteran peace activists from Hollywood, including George Clooney and Matt Damon, have said they will be making statements on the issue of decolonization of the Malvinas within the next week. I'm quietly optimistic they will also support the movement for modern civilization by backing calls for Britain to evacuate.

You should know that I was talking about Saxi. It's mainly because we proved that he will tolerate actions committed by non-Westerners that he would profusely complain about if a Western power committed, in this case an economic blockade on an island chain. When carpet point-blankly stated this hypocrisy, he posted a picture oh a guy shrugging and then went back to his anti-British rants.

Personally I think he is blinded by his anti-Western sentiments and lost any ability to look at the situation objectively. I would say that he is a troll if I hadn't encountered others doing pretty much the exact same thing while remaining completely serious.

Anti-Westernism isn't hypocrisy. It's anti-Westernism. The hypocrisy lies in the OP complaining about imperialism against the UK.

GP was correct

The west can't be bullied because the west is a bully. One can't be hypocritical celebrating David's victory over Goliath (even if Goliath is retired and in a nursing home). That's why I was flippant, because the notion of hypocrisy or of the UK being bullied is too ridiculous to merit a serious reply. Outmaneuvered and outsmarted? Yes. Bullied? No.
