I completed one of the mage guild quests and started another one. I fast travelled and all of the sudden - two dragons. I had no problem with them or anything, but it's fairly annoying. I have to pick up their scales and bones, fast travel back to Breezehome, store them, and then fast travel back to complete the quest.

Essentially, yes. There are some designated Dragon baddies, but some also randomly generated baddies, much like all other wild life I think.

You don't have to pick up their guts if you don't want to. ;) But I find myself doing the same thing as you if I choose to battle the dragon. But my character has some decent stamina invested so the cap is up to 400 or so, and some more space should free up once he can reduce his light armor to nothingness in weight with the perks.

If I don't choose the battle dragon, I'll just run and be on my way.

I can't not fight a dragon; it's a compulsion.

I'm getting pissed off with all the bugs that keep cropping up. Have the game on the PS3 and all of sudden my character goes invisible or the regular enemies I am fighting become invisible, I am currently in the middle of this dungeon fighting invisible draugr scourges and it is pissing me right off. I also seem to have lost Lydia somewhere, yet when I try and recruit a new companion they say someone is already with you. The loading times are doing my head in, every damn building I want to go in seems to take 3 minutes before I can enter.

I have not had problems with the 360 version (knock on wood).

I didn't have problems when I first started playing, but they've only recently got bad now I'm 80 hours into this seemingly never ending game, the forums do say that the bugs on the PS3 are the most prominent.

great damn game

My character is at level 72 now and I am about to go into the two last quests of the game.

Hard ass game to get all 1000 Xbox achievement points though.

I don't even know where I am in the main quest line, not very far. I find that I'm more interested in just the exploration. There are still like 2 major cities I haven't yet visited, plus a couple of hamlets, since I I've been exploring all the central and southeast, and now into the southwest and northeast. And I just stumbled into Blackreach, so I am dinking around in there as well.

Wasn't there someone in this topic talking about the easiness of dragons to take down? I've got the PC version of the game, so I've got a good 20 some mods going, one of which ups the difficulty of dragons. I am going to experiment with it once I get some time to play again. I've come across some pretty nice mods, though most are aesthetic, landscape, weather, lighting, and 'sound' mods since I seem to gravitate towards that sort of interest (over, lets say, allowing my character to be Spiderman).

Mods can be awesome. I'm still loading and playing mods in Oblivion.

I'm hoping for some good suggestions for mods to play from Day 1 once I get Skyrim. There are some mods in Oblivion that would have been good to have installed right at the beginning...like Kvatch Rebuilt, for instance.

yeah I started slow andy.. wasnt even sure about this game the first two weeks I had it.

But 5 weeks after I have to say its one of the best I have ever played. My advice is if you want to play it all and see it all, get on google and find out what the final quests are... because I can see where you would accidentally finish this game at level 30ish.

I have played every faction to its end now except for the mages guild and I probably will not do that one. I am going to finish it up because now at level 74 (not 72) I do not think I will gain another level to gain a perk. So now I am jsut focusing on finishing it and getting the xbox achievents as completed as possible

I am taking a break from Skyrim for a while. I've been exploring the game now since November when it came out...I need a change for a bit. I bought two games in the mean time:

Overlord: STUPID! Luckily I only spent ten bucks on it!

ICO/Shadow of the Colossus:

This is a package game, I always wanted to play Shadow but never had a system...now I am able to finally see what this game was all about back in the day! I can see that perhaps this game was quite ground breaking at the time...and I can see how Assassin's Creed got some of its ideas (scaling walls and climbing puzzles). I can even see a bit of Skyrim in this game (though vaguely). It is still an exploration type of game. I have killed three Colossi so far. GREAT GAME! I will also have to buy The Last Guardian.

Skyrim is awesome, but I need a break for a time.

I'm interested to see what the Downloadable Content will be for Skyrim, and if I feel it is worth the additional purchase (my guess, I just might, considering I'm sure I've got my money's worth out of the game, when counting the hours I spent so far, and I know I've got many many many more hours to go!).

Agreed! The game has so much game time, it is ridiculous! A person almost doesn't have time for the next in the series...(Hammerfell?) Does anyone know what the next in series will be?

I'm sure that's a ways off. Skyrim started preproduction in 2006, just after Oblivion hit the market.

I hope it's not Hammerfell. I hope it's not any of the human realms. They all seem to be too much of the typical fantasy settings. I'd like to see Elsweyr, Black Marsh or Valenwood. Or even the Summerset Isles.

It would be cool if they would combine Elsweyr and Valenwood, since they together are roughly the same size as Cyrodiil. Plus it would make for an interesting mix of geography.

That's probably most likely, given the Thalmor politics and whatnot.

Some news for you all:

Skyrim Sport: Cabbage Trick Shots [Story].

Some of you probably have seen the endless stream of youtube videos with people making insane basketball shots, and this has now come to Skyrim:

=============

In real news though, some leaked information about the DLC, Bethesda filed a trademark, which could be related to Skyrim due to some connectioneers. Also, I read somewhere that XBOX will be getting the DLC a month before anyone else, perhaps in June, but I can't seem to find that article again.

Could this be the new Elder Scrolls symbol after the so familiar Imperial Dragon symbol of Skyrim? Very interesting (and nice symbol) but would a Dawnstar game be in lieu of Skyrim, of which Dawnstar is already part of this time around?

I heard the rumor that Elsweyr would be the next edition in the Elder Scrolls saga, but I think they may be moving towards making their novel (or parts therein) into the next in series.

On their website they are pushing a novel called: Lord of Souls: An Elder Scrolls Novel

http://www.randomhouse.com/book/92223/l ... es#excerpt

I am thinking that they might base the story of the game around this novel...perhaps even keeping the moniker Lord Of Souls. But where the story takes place is uncertain (if there is a specific place...perhaps the whole of Tamriel? YIKES! Too BIG!...or is it?). Again the Imperials are involved and a floating island city called Umbriel.

With a floating city in the game, that could make things interesting (especially traveling on the map).

Lord Of Souls: Elder Scrolls VI? It does have a nice ring to it.

Perhaps they plan to use the Dawnguard symbol, but revolve the story around Lord Of Souls?

I'm pretty sure those books (there is another one by that same author) took place in between TES IV: Oblivion and TES V: Skyrim. I haven't read the books, but I've read about them. Most of Morrowind is destroyed, the island of Vvardenfell is completely gone, the Argonians have invaded and subjugated (most of) it. That floating city thing, Umbriel or whatever, apparently destroys whatever it's floating over, or something close to that.

Edit: After checking the wiki article for those novels, yeah, they took place about 40 years after the Oblivion crisis, so about 160 years before the events of Skyrim. So I don't think they're gonna be featured in the next game, considering that would mean going backward in time, something they've never done. Plus, what fun would it be to play out the events of an already written book, when we could get a completely new story that nobody has heard yet?

Dun dun dun. We shall see. Until then, I'll continue my random exploration. I think eventually I'll do some time-trials for fun, and see how long it takes me to get from one end of the map to the other on foot, following the trails and roads.

Nope, but I probably will do something like that eventually. I'm a strange fellow when it comes to counting things. Whenever I am walking places I always keep track of how many, say, squirrels or birds, etc, I've seen.

I also once decided to count my steps for an entire day---without using a pedometer, just keeping track in my mind. Haha. So I am sure some of these things will eventually get into Skyrim.
