Undo function?

Post by twelvenomads »

Hey - I've screwed up several games by placing the wrong number of troops, or reinforcing the wrong territory, etc. Anything in the works to create an undo function - particularly for troop placement or reinforcements?

Thanks,

never gonna happen. no undo button, no save/load function. just be more careful next time. if you're playing a normal game you have a full hour at your disposal to take your turn so don't rush things.

this would be more a suggestion then a question, but the ramifications of your suggestion are huge.
There are however several addons availiable, one of those must have an popup (are you sure) thingie. That should give you pause to think again. Ofcourse a hasty triggerfinger can ruin even the carefully layed plans..

BOB asks for confirmation to end the Assault phase and reinforcement phase. But does not un-do things that have been done.

i think it would be a great idea to have an undo button. it wouldn't be used for attacks though and should probably have a timer. for example you only have 10 seconds to undo something.

I think there really should be an undo button for things that don't involve rolling dice. As it is right now, one misclick can lead to losing a game.

especially wirth left/right clicking when moving troops from the attacking territ. to the newly conquered territ. That happens to me alot.

Agreed! There may be programming issues, but I can think of NO negative gameplay ramifications to allowing an undo within 10 seconds of troop movements, deployment, reinforcement, etc.
Several times already I have set the amount of troops to move and clicked "end reinforcements" instead of "reinforce". Oops! Left my newly conquered continent wide open due to "clicking error".
Or I clicked wrong and moved all my troops in when I wanted to move only one, etc. 10 seconds to correct an oops as long as no other action has been taken is very reasonable. I think taking little mouse/keyboard mistakes out of the gameplay so strategy isn't compromised would be great!
I'm new to the game and maybe I'll learn from my mistakes (I sure hope so!) but it's been awfully frustrating.
Even a 5 second undo in non-speed games please!

Speed games would be the reason not to have an undo-function actually.. Would be strange to see your opponent end his turn, and resuming it again 4 secs. later, or the other side: end turn in the last 4 secs, and not get a spoil since he had the possibility to undo..
It wouldn't be very intuitive, so I don't think this will be implemented.
