Scott Walker - The Results Are In

Postby Phatscotty on Thu Jun 07, 2012 4:24 pm

Wisconsin, headquarters and birthplace of the Progressive Party and solid blue state since 1984 (Ronald Reagan), had taken a hard right turn, and then reaffirmed and solidified that right turn. (in a state Obama won in 2008 by 14 points!)
Here's to Wisconsin, the red state!

That's right! Democracy died tonight! And it was killed by......Democracy! Seriously, get a clue! The election wasn't even CLOSE! Maybe, just maybe, you've been lied to and used. Maybe not, but...maybe? But...."The end of the USA just happened?"  More like.... the end of other people's money!

Look at this denialist...she smacks the candidate for conceding too soon. (A direct violent attack on a candidate!)More and more, these people are flipping out and going insane this summer. This is just the beginning. The alternate reality they have immersed themselves in and worship is crumbling all around their feet.

Tea Party; strong like bull!

Madison Wisconsin (home of choice for Stalin's daughter) turned out 119% of the vote. This obvious case of voter fraud is clear evidence why voter ID is coming right down the pipeline, and this should be investigated thoroughly.

Scott Walker earns 37-40% of the union vote! :o Maybe everybody was just over reacting? Seems to be a reoccurring theme.

It's hard to say if this election would have turned out differently had spending been more equitable rather than Walker's $34,000,000 to whashissname's $4 million. I'm inclined to think it wouldn't have mattered but Scott Walker - a man who has only held one brief job that wasn't that of elected politician - is hardly some icon of courage. That said, Saxi has no interest in public employee unions generally.

There's never been a progressive movement in history in which the people have battled for their right to pay fat state bureaucrats more ... not the French Revolution, not the Russian Revolution ... none ... until the Wisconsin recall when progressive activism was suddenly reframed as a battle for the right of workers to spend money on pensions for The Man that are ten times more lavish than those which the workers themselves get. The way the Democrat Party is able to market their peculiar brand of fascism as socialism - or at least something equivocating it - is utterly fascinating.

I'm not necessarily glad that Walker won but I'm glad public sector unions have been crushed, and if I were a Wisconsinite I would probably have held my nose and voted for Walker. The corruption of public sector unions de-legitimizes private sector unions.

I find it hard to believe he only raised 4 million. I think 4 million is what he spent, because he reportedly raised over 14 million from unions and the Democratic governors association. Plus, with Obama hand picking the team to quarterback the recall drive in WI, not to mention "employing the president's entire "grassroots" machinery....40 offices....unprecedented efforts...." Jesse Ventura, a third party candidate who was outspent 20 million to 1 in the 1990's managed to even raise a million dollars, and that's 1990's dollars so that's like 13 billion today...

I don't buy he only had 4 million dollars.

A stunning admission on your part. Of COURSE he would have only spent 4 million when he had 14 million. That makes perfect sense.

The Blaze, The Wall Street Journal, Wisconsin Democracy Campaign

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/the-bla ... not-ready/

Let’s take a look at his claim that Gov. Walker simply outspent Barrett.

First, approximately $63 million was spent on the Wisconsin recall election. Second, the man interviewed by CNN seems to cite the dollar amount raised as opposed to dollar amount spent.

According to the government watchdog group Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, Gov. Walker spent (not raised) about $29 million whereas Barrett spent about $3 million dollars.*

But let’s go back for a moment and look at the amount of cash raised by each campaign.

Gov. Walker pulled in about $31 million (not $34), which is three times what he raised in his 2010 bid for office, according to the Wall Street Journal.

But based on a tally from the same watchdog group as cited in the above, FOX News claims that, along with the $4.2 million he raised mostly from inside Wisconsin, Barrett raised about $14 million from unions, the Democratic Governors Association, and the Democratic National Committee.

This raises an interesting question: if the Barrett campaign raised approximately $18.2 million, why is it being reported that it only spent $3 million?

Bottom line: Although Gov. Walker outraised and outspent Barrett, which, depending on your political persuasion, is either a testament to his popularity or proof of a “vast right wing conspiracy,” the gap between the two campaigns may not be as great as the “weeping voter” would have you believe.

I think it's possible that whatshisname only got 4 million from "inside Wisconsin"

Wait, -50 SaxBucks penalty.

I followed the link from the Blaze and none of the numbers they say are actually represented there.

According to it, there was only about $2 million in anti-Walker independent expenditures, rather than the $14 million they report -

Anyway, whatever, it doesn't matter to me either way. Like I said, I like to see public sector unions crushed and I'm not particular on how it happens.

Well that doesn't mean anything. If I have $10 million and you have $1 I can't say "Scott and me are millionaires!"

and also, the source you posted says...

"Total Spending for Tom Barret: $5,815,181.54"

I will continue to look at this. Any thing you find would be cool too.

Maybe I can break even on Saxbucks

oic.

I still have a hard time believing, that with all the national media attention, the direct attention of the president (early on) and all the time they have had to organize....that he only got 4 million dollars.

Remember all the dire predictions and the crowds that erupted against Scott Walker and his 'destructive' policies? They were standing in the way of prosperity. The refused to let government return to work when the legislators fled their own state to shut down all voting?
