The invitations for the Beta were included in Crackdown as a lame attempt to drive up the sales of that game.

The multiplayer beta has been going on for some time

I didn't get crackdown, it's a long story how i got it. The one i've got has 2 more maps than the crackdown version though :D

did you get to use the portable shield?
it seems pretty useless unless you got the sword or your a master at melee
