Bonac - the mostly lost dialect of the natives of the southern fork of Long Island. It sounds a little bit like Boston/Maine but ticker and full bodied.

Now nearly lost forever, there was once a thriving local Bonac dialect, which held strong into the middle of the last century. Today, the Bonac accent is in the process of being lost to the New York City speech patterns of the western portion of Long Island. The Bonac accent is said to be akin to the spoken language of the working class settlers who came from England in the 17th century; and it is also, remarkably, said to be akin to accents of fishing cultures farther down the Atlantic coast, in the Carolinas, for instance, where similar groups of Englishmen settled around the same time. My friends mom was from West Virginia and her accent was actually pretty sexy imho.
Another thing of note: the "Boston" accent is really more like the equivalent of cockneyed for the UK.

Theres a russian and indian in our office not far from where I sit; they work quite closely together and always have loud and awesome arguments about minor shit (economists for you...). The india vs russia accent battle is a thing to behold; shit keeps me going through the long working day.

Haha f*ck yeah; the russian accent is a great one, similar to Jamacian in that it has a kind of slow and almost melodical kind of sound - someone who know more about linguistics can prob explain this better.

I worked with a couple of Jamaican guys when I was 18 they were so awesome. I would translate all the time because I'd listen to what they were saying and figured out all the words they used that everyone else didn't. The one was like 54 and he had a 17 year old girl friend. When they would argue they'd start speaking super fast.

It was awesome.
