but he is rather a cool person. I think his methods of debate are fairly known and as BBS pointed out in the past, the community itself takes care of this.

90 days is a lot, it'll be good if we were informed exactly WHY he was banned. Why is this info a secret? I think it concerns all of us, since punishments don't seem to be always the same for the same behavior.

For instance, I sent pimpdave 3 personal messages with rather funny pictures alone, no words, the pictures were explicit and all but if you know me you know I was kidding to some degree: one was of a guy with a small penis and 2 or 3 girls laughing at him.. another was a bloody heart on a plate next to a knife and the third was a poster for a summer fat camp. I got banned, a month if I recall correctly.

Funkyterrance sent me 3 pms, the 3 of them with nasty comments, I did not respond to any of them and when the 3rd arrived I thought it'll be great to finally have him banned. Since I was banned for 3 pms, he was going to get banned for his agressive pms. Well, he wasn't banned.

I've got no clue what the latest ban was for, but you know the whole thing about bans is that they escalate.

I'm not sure about that, something changed I believe, I don't think they escalate anymore.

Your double post annoyance isn't quite the same experience I received from him, where he simply posted the same message several times in a thread and then complained that i hadn't addressed his message, indeed attempting to claim that he hadn't said his bs at all, because of course, he was posting a near identical post without a response after and editing like hell.

The powers that be, be they one or two individuals, are a board of several administration people, have apparently decided to say nothing of the alleged infractions, so no one learns the application of the rules. Imagine from the players eyes, a player disappears for no apparent reason, and then returns after a certain amount of time. Translate that to real life. For example, all the village knows the police have detained someone but no one knows why or for how long. Then one day they reappear.

The admin needs to institute an announcement policy on these infractions. Much like the police give statements on arrests and cases. The courts announce sentences, etc.

Understood. A lot of cases aren't an outright ban. User should have been warned and not be surprised with a ban. If that wasn't the case for you I am sorry. I will however bring your points up in discussion, regarding telling other members about the infractions. I do actually try to be a good mod, but I do make mistakes. A few people have gotten pm's from me with unofficial warnings.
Double posting doesn't really hurt so much if they are responses to two different people and not spamming. Necrobumping under the circumstances that Symmetry mentioned are unacceptable and annoying to the whole community.

Also, the existence of these infractions seems to be part of the old tactic of making trivial common things "illegal" but very rarely prosecuting them so that no one gives a shit cause it seems like it doesn't matter. Of course it does matter cause the powers that be now have an excuse to selectively prosecute whomever they don't like for these minor offences that virtually everyone is guilty of.
