Pubic Lice Going Extinct

More than 80 percent of college students in the U.S. remove all or some of their pubic hair -- part of a trend that’s increasing in western countries.

“Pubic grooming has led to a severe depletion of crab louse populations,” said Ian F. Burgess, a medical entomologist with Insect Research & Development Ltd. in Cambridge, England. “Add to that other aspects of body hair depilation, and you can see an environmental disaster in the making for this species.”

At this rate, this vibrant species that is an important part of our ecosystem will be confined to France - what should be done?

We know so little of the consequences from intervening in our ecosystems; therefore, all pubic lice toxins and methods of elimination should be prohibited. It could be the case that pubic lice holds the cure to cancer. Well, in that case, let's freeze a few, and then resume exterminating this nuisance or resume exports to France. Gentlemen, our meeting is concluded.

Well I think it's a damn shame. How are you supposed to tell a really skanky person from a the rest of the population now? Used to be you could just keep an eye out for undue scratching.
