I worked with a German girl for some time and I found the accent a little "cold". Or maybe it was just her.

From the little experience I have with Germans is they tend to come accross as quite cold because small talk isnt really part of their culture.

For me it's the really thick Spanish accent. Like, Venezuelan, I guess. Example: I had (still have whenever I watch the movie) a huge crush on Maria Conchita Alonso in The Running Man.

Some sort of southern accent would be next, I guess.

It's a toss up (off?) between these two.

A- Wtf is posh???
B- Have you ever even heard a Boston accent? No offense to Bostoners but I'm more stimulated by the sling blade guy's accent.
C- Aren't we all desensitized to Australian and Scottish by now?

A - "Posh" is a Britishism for upper-class. A posh accent would be someone who talks like the public school products who live/frequent Sloan Square in London and use expressions like N-Double-O-C (not of our class)

B - Yes I have, which is why I suggested Bonac or even Maine as being better. "Ya can't get thar from ere" is so much better than "arc the are."

C - I, being half Scots, can never get enough Scottish, lad.

I'm dissapointed Lung Eye L'and wasn't mentioned as an accent. (It's an offshoot from Brooklun)

Lootifer, I never considered this. Interesting how a small cultural difference such as that could affect my overall impression but I think you may have nailed it.
I now wonder if people from the southern US may view northerners as "unfriendly" since I generally find people from the south to be so outgoing that it actually makes me distrust them at first. Now I am wondering if they all found me "cold".
