Infinity minus a finite sum is still infinity. Therefore, even if the list of things you know is very large, as long as it is finite then the list of things you don't know is still infinite.

If someone classifies themselves as a rock, can I blow them up, because technically they're a rock and therefore inanimate so murder doesn't apply?

If they're a rock, then sure, since rocks cannot possess ownership over themselves.

Gender crossing is a serious matter. Due to environmental, family, and somewhat known individual/physiological causes, it's perfectly normal for a biological male to identify with the female gender (and vice-versa). There's a been a real bad history on how psychologists have addressed gender. Sometimes, a 'female' is also born with the sexual organs of a male. The 'solution' is cut off the testicles, but when the evidence started rolling in, some people realized that mutilating body parts doesn't fix the issue. The patient didn't feel female--even after years of indoctrination and subjugation from society and from his/her family. There's the biological, and then there's the gender. Those are two distinct concepts which people sometimes forget.

At one point in time, homosexuality was deemed abnormal; it was seen as a mental disorder. Today, nearly everyone believes that the psychologists were wrong. The same holds for gender crossers, but in the DSM-IV gender crossers are still considered abnormal. They 'suffer' from some mental disorder. If you identify as the 'other' gender, you could be labeled by the courts as psychologically unfit to manage your own affairs. That's very fucked up, and all of that is nonsense.

Ya gotta let people be people and accept them for who they are--and who they strive to be. Gender is a subjective matter about identity which requires trial-and-error and necessitates a willingness for others to understand the constraints and initial confusions which some people have to go through.
