Dave was banned for flooding.
About half the time my replies are silly.

In which half does this one fall?

I think my serious replies are the most silly to be honest. The otherside is much more me.

That sounds like a good compromise.

When was pimpdave banned for necro-bumping?
Hmm...
Well, he wasn't banned for necro-bumping but neither will Aog be. Pimpdave got banned for excessive spam right? His tea-party thingies. If you take the sum total of Pimpdave's spam threads and that of Aog's five million 2 and 3 word spam posts wouldn't we have just about a balanced scale? Pimpdave's relative harmlessness seems about on par with Aog's and I don't condone bans tbh but it just is hard for us players to see the system in place at times like these. I understand that mods, etc. are obligated to respond to what is reported and don't necessarily have any preferences but sometimes it's just difficult to watch two equally naughty children, one romping the hallways while the other sits in the corner.
I understand the desire for clarity.
I think the ban for all of those threads was before I was a mod. I will state the difference clearly. By creating a ton of threads about the same thing, regardless of substance, pushes all of the other threads down. Causing annoyance and what not. This isn't allowed in the chat either. That is spam.
AoG more or less posts in topics that discussions are ongoing. This necro is the first I have seen from him and even though it seemed random it actually had a purpose. A good one? I don't know, but some purpose.
We are also under new management, so we are trying to continually gauge and adapt to this new flow. I have been as candid as I can with all of you and I try to give good explanations. If you don't think they are clear let me know. If I don't know the answer, or my answer isn't satisfactory, then I will ask above me.
Did ... did I just see a mod actually explore the reasoning of a ruling and not just stonewall us or say "them's the rules" ....

Did you just discover Kentington? He's not your average mod.

Do you think they would all receive warning/bans?
Would the resulting community outrage cause loss of revenue?
Or perhaps it would cause reasonable rule changes?
Or both?
We may never know.

I'm game if it proves a point. You first though.

The rest of my clan wouldn't tell me either because it was funnier for me to be in the dark about it.
I'm sure it was an effective way to teach me a lesson. I probably would not intentionally do what ever it was the rest of my clan mates did if I knew what it was.

I would think it would have to be a spontaneous concerted type thing for maximum effect.
