Only the reddest of rednecks would do that.

Surely in that scenario you would have to use guns to kill the agents of the tyrannical government(as if citizens could successfully prevent any such thing, but thats another thread),thus defeating the premise of this thread,'things guns can be used for OTHER than killing'.
By the way your inability to grasp such a simple idea goes a long way to explaining your wacky creationist views...

No Chang. I see an armed citizenry as means of preventing the government from enacting such a thing to start with. Even though gun control came about before Hitler came to power, at least the Jews and other groups would have had the dignity and right to defend themselves instead of being herded like sheep to the slaughter. Once again, Chang, it is a preventative measure.
Also, you can't seem to stay on topic. Instead of the fairy tale of an explosion billions and billions of years ago that later spontaneously generated life in a bowl soup from dead matter which randomly produced the millions of species of animals, flowers and trees around us which is taught as fact, I believe it is much easier to believe "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." Genesis 1:1

Yeah, I mean remember how the fear of gun owners stopped the government from relocating 70,000 US citizens to internment camps during WW2 ?
Oh, wait ...

The figure is 100,000. Many whites on the west coast hated the Japanese. Any resistance would of proved futile. When being moved to the camps, families were given as little as 48 hours to pack and try to rent or sell their homes and businesses. Many were taken advantage of, and paid ridiculously low sums for their possessions. In the end, many had to simply abandon their homes. When being relocated, it was not uncommon for families to be separated, whether accidentally or intentionally.Haggis_McMutton wrote:premio53 wrote:chang50 wrote:premio53 wrote:Preventing a tyrannical government from sending you and your loved ones to a death camp?

Less than 1% of the Japanese population of Hawaii were interned. Japanese comprised 1/3 of the total population of Hawaii.http://www.hawaiiinternment.org/history-of-internmentAndyDufresne wrote:premio53 wrote:There was fear of a full scale attack on the American west coast when that took place. Agreed they weren't like the death camps in Europe. They didn't take crush many lives. Just a lot of spirits. And liberties.
