Ye Olde Survey Sez

Postby jonesthecurl on Tue May 07, 2013 12:36 pm

Some of you will have guessed what sort of thing this is,
We're running something where we say to various people "we asked a hundred people to name ..." and they guess what the survey said.
If you want to, you can be part of the survey.
Note, you are not guessing what the survey said, you are the survey.

I'd be grateful if you'd do this, you can join in by going to http://www.deadgoodllc.com and clicking on the "Ye Olde Survey Sez" button.

Jonesy, I took your survey. Also, does this enter me into a prize drawing, like say 2 front row tickets to: Solution to the AoG/nietzsche vs. FT rivalry?

I pressed the button over and over and nothing happened.

Very funny! Is that part of the act? :P

Actually, I went back, since other people seemed to have succeeded in reaching the quiz, and investigated some more.

I scrolled down to the Quizzes section and pressed (ie. "clicked on") the button over and over again and nothing happened. However, then I scrolled back to the top just out of curiosity, and at that point I noticed the "Ye" sticking in just barely over the right side of the screen. Then I scrolled horizontally to the right, found the whole "Ye olde survey" button, pressed it, and successfully did the quiz.

Anyway, I think when somebody reports a problem you should proceed from the assumption that they are acting in good faith, and not jerking you around just for fun. The button down below does not seem to work, although the one on the top right does. The one on the top right is probably noticeable right away for people with the new wide-screen monitors, but for people with standard monitors most of it falls off the screen. Most people will think to scroll vertically, but many will forget to also scroll horizontally to look for stuff.

Ok I'll fix that when I get back from rehearsals tonight.

I'll have you know that since the airplane wasn't invented until 1906, history did not exist in the 19th century.

I knew there was a catch to it. Can I give my ticket to my friend then? (I think he still works at Canary Warf, although they may have sold the old headquarters.)

Um, actually you don't really need a ticket... anyone can come and watch.
Incidentally another part of the OSC is doing the same play at the RADA studios the saturday before. There is a big international competition involved in all this. It's being judged by the guy who played Orlando in the BBC version opposite Helen Mirren.

I assumed we are supposed to answer with the first thing that comes to mind. I have never been a Poe fan... I couldn't think of any or his story or book titles. I wrote "Something Raven".

Otherwise I think I had all "valid" and likely common answers.

Exactly right. Thank you.
And if you don't have an answer, leave it blank. Surprising how many people had absolutely nothing for some of the categories.

I suppose you didn't like "Some story about painting a white fence"?
