The price range for the laptops that your asking for is around, $700 with a graphics card that is equal, or a little less than the one your looking for. Even though both of these laptops are windows 8, You could get someone to revert it to 7 (or do it yourself. yes, Windows 8 is that bad)

My wife's work used to require her to have Windows to log into the network remotely.
After enough hassles with PC's I opt'd for an iMac...
I then got a second screen and installed VMWare Fusion and Windows XP.
I have it setup so the Mac OS appears on the primary screen.. and XP appears on the second screen.
It has worked like a charm for six years.
BTW... I sold Windows based PC's and Networks for 15 years. I have above average knowledge in working with PC's.
(I'm not claiming to be a hacker... just saying my knowledge is above the average middle-class computer-using American.)
I have very little experience with Macs.
I was able to setup and install the Mac solution above quicker than I could setup a Windows machines and get in online and on my home network and printing.

If you have 15 years experience with Windows it should be a snap to get a home network going. Especially with Win 7 or WIn XP.
Just make sure you don't use Win98, ME, Vista, or Windows 8.
Anything else is manageable.

It wasn't that much... not for equal hardware levels.
Maybe $650-$700.
... and the answer is yes.
I have not hd to mess around with this thing for 6+ years.
It's worked like a charm.

Fair enough.
I loath apple personally; but that is a great argument and I am glad you are happy- one thing apple does do well is simple ease of use.
(not being sarcastic btw, though it may seem like I am).
