Night Burning

Postby / on Tue May 28, 2013 2:47 am

Lately the weather here has been around 90°- 100°F in the day, even at the coolest points of night it still usually hovers around the mid-70s, yet one of my neighbors continues to periodically light their fireplace in the evenings, (sometimes just after sundown; when it's still in the high-80s) should I be concerned?

I'm sure he just likes fires. I also light a fire sometimes when it's 25 degrees Celcius (about 70-80 Fahrenheit, I think?) in the evening, just for the beauty of the atmosphere around us at such moments. We're pyromaniacs who don't set other buildings on fire, but just have fun in our own backyards. Don't see too much harm in it.

Night burning deserves a quiet night.

That's why I like living at elevation. Today's high is supposed to be about 70° F.

Maybe they just want to use up the wood pile, or maybe they cook with it. We used to make stews and stuff on our fireplace, even in summer.

I used to do a lot of night burning but way out in country where I live it's hard to find open convenience stores when you get the mad munchies .
