The real Tea Party headquarters is in the hearts and minds of every American. Regardless of all the BS, deep down we all value Freedom, Liberty, and Independence, but I think we have forgotten a bit about the warning signs and the dangers of tyranny, negative Liberty, and dependence. But people are as of a couple weeks ago starting to remember.

Ron Paul was right, and the Tea Party is right.

How does disallowing homosexual marriage tie into Freedom, Liberty and Independence?
How does making abortion illegal tie into Freedom, Liberty and Independence?

What the hell is "negative Liberty"?

Disallowing homosexual marriage is tyranny.

He is an American. Don't get all birther on us. Most of us will hopefully focus on the message and not the birthplace of the messenger.

Nope. I have always held that was an issue for before the election, and that it was a waste of time talking about it after the election of 2008. I had a problem with the way Obama was playing games with the issue and taunting his opponents with it, but that isn't the same thing as saying he was born in Kenya.

Thanks for saying I am funny tho!

This thread needs more drama and sensationalism.

So the ACTUAL answer to his question is a confirmed "yes".

Well I'm relieved it's not this building ...

Mind you, the original office in Canary Warf was another story ... they had hot water spigots just for making tea on the spot.

That's actually...fantastic! Given the context and all.

Basically the reason I'm posting is that I want pimpdave's memory to live on eternal but I thought my two cents on the subject of tea-partiers would be appropriate. I know a few. My impression from them is they support the movement because they will support anything that has the potentiality of ensuring the safety of their own personal pile of money, it doesn't get much deeper than that. I can't speak for the lot of tea-partiers of course but those people that I know could give a shit about the personal freedoms and rights of anyone but themselves.

that sounds like a highly subjective interpretation of their views (lol at Dave's eternal memory), but I don't know them. ..."their own personal pile of money", you make that sound bad, like they didn't work for it, while the truth is all too often far too many break their back and their hands for it, and still can't afford to buy a car, but the government always ends up with about 50% of everyone's money, and going up.

That's a negative toned way of saying they want lower taxes. While it's true sure they will maybe get to keep more of their own money, it's also true that cutting the amount we send to the government is probably the only way we could truly shrink the government, but if your friends are Tea Party like you say they are, and they aren't talking about smaller government and national debt, and only "their own pile of money", then they are missing a lot of the key TP ingredients imo.

now this old news but it bares repeating,at the time the republican mark Foley scandal was causing problems for republicans heading towards an election,Fox news came up with an ingenious way of dealing with it,they relabeled Mark Foley a Democrat. Fox news incorrectly labeling politicians has happened far to often for it to just be a mistake. When John McCain was criticizing George Bush early in his administration Fox had a graphic labeling him a democrat as well.

i think juan actually has a thread dedicated to hate speech against republicans. you might want to seek that out instead of posting in a moribund topic like this one.
