I wonder if Organizing for America will get harassed by the IRS since it has direct ties to a politician.

I was reading the Maddow blog this morning on the subject of the IRS and the Tea Party lawsuits (I like Maddow). A few things stood out (from both the article and the comments):

(1) The level of open hypocrisy on display was staggering. To be fair, I find conservative blogs and comments to be also hypocritical.
(2) Don't ever read the comments sections on these blogs. They will drive you nuts (unless of course you agree with the comments).
(3) There was one very excellent point in the comments. What is lost in this is that politically affiliated entities can get tax-exempt status under the law. That seems to be an issue that is ignored here.

That's a (perceived) problem with the law itself, not with the unequal treatment under the law. The IRS scandal is about the latter. Just because people don't like the law doesn't provide an excuse for the government to be treating people unequally under the law.

I don't disagree with that.

I have already posted the full speech and QnA Rand Paul gave at Howard. Thanks for an ultra liberal edited and spun 60 minute version condensed into a soundbyte, but no thanks. It has nothing to do with the IRS.

No question. I find them good for humor but little else. Then I get sad because they make me think the educational system really is failing.

Whether the president knew about it or not has nothing to do with the fact the American's civil rights are being and have been violated.

No; this will sound strange coming from me but what I care about is for the repubs to stop politicizing everything. I hate those who hate,I politicize those who politicize everything. and yes I am still a republican,I cant tell you the real reason why I am though. Closed primary's in my state so I did get to vote for John McCain once and yes Ron Paul.

So the IRS politicized who they put before the inquisition, yet it's the Republicans who have politicized everything simply by investigating it? In what world does that make sense?

Night buddy, darrel Issa has known for a while now the White House was not involved, read the article that I posted. But Issa refused to release the transcripts that cleared the White House. Why?sadly because the repubs saw a political opportunity they could take advantage of.They may have over played their hand it remains to be seen. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/06/1 ... 60904.html The article also says that the inquisition as you put it was not the IRS's intent.

You do realize that it was not solely conservative groups that were put in that position by the IRS, right? Surely, you realize that by now...

So your answer to my question is a resounding "no" then...I'm not surprised.
