The Met is investigating a tip it's received that radical monarchists in the British military assassinated Princess Diana, and that the hit was carried out by the SAS, probably to spare the Ruling Family the ongoing humiliation of having the mother of an heir to the throne on a non-stop sex and booze party holiday with an Arab business tycoon. Did the Queen personally order the extrajudicial execution against a disloyal subject? Unknown.

A documentary released in 2011 about the death of Diana was censored for violation of Britain's strict lèse-majesté laws that allow only limited criticism of their worshipfulnesses.
