They are best known for a very fast, high-energy sound, with complex rhythms and high-speed, staccato clarinet, saxophone and trumpet solos, sometimes performed at more than 200 beats per minute. They are also known for using no sheet music in their performances, sometimes randomly blasting their horns and clarinets in the middle of a song, and for playing old, battered instruments onstage.

Makes me want to go home and illegally download some of their stuff.

I have yet to enjoy lyrics related to politics--of any kind. I'd rather read some author's interpretation of politics through fiction!. :P Both are subjective (and unscientific/--or "hypothetical" to be nice), but I seek the imagery and craft from the latter. Songs and poems? Meh.

(And, yeah, check out Fanfare Ciocărlia. If you find yourself liking Balkan music, lemme know).

Eh I listen to a lot of punk, but I ignore the lyrics. While I appreciate their cause its often poorly thought out/focused. The NOFX one was just tongue in cheek; its a 45 second song where the lyrics are along the lines of "MURDER THE GOVERNMENT, ANNNNNNND MURDER THE GOVERNNNNNNMENNNNNNT!"; inventive. Not sure how it got into my most played.
