Right.

Yes, that is right. If you have information to the contrary, you should share it; especially the second point. If you knew me IRL you'd understand the absurdity of that notion.

That's a damn fine question.
IMHO, he's playing a political game with Congress. He doesn't want to attack Assad, he wants the Republicans to back down for him. Meanwhile Obama looks like a strong president to the rest of the world. If anything should happen in the future, and he wants to use our military, he can say "oh I'm not asking Congress anymore. They can't get anything done." But for right now, he shifts the focus on Congress.
It wasn't very long ago the Republicans were calling him weak on terror and weak on Syria, for not enforcing his own red line. Now our do-nothing Congress is going to take the heat. Obama still won't look all that great, but he will still look strong while Congress looks worse than ever.

That's my guess.

I thought BBS dropped out after it turned out that his sources were either from before the war started or from a website that distributes pornography. And then there was that time a few pages ago that he attacked me for using a shitty source, which ended up being his shitty source.
I only thought this way because in the Benghazi thread he kept saying that everything was a strawman attack until someone explained what "strawman" actually meant, then he dropped the thread rather than admit he was using it wrong.

HEY BBS, why you so obsessed with me? You took all that time to make some silly "ABCD" chart, but you couldn't take the time to research on a website that doesn't distribute pornographic videos and gore? And what is it about porn & gore videos that makes you want to direct a post at me?

Why would he do that? I've demonstrated the JuanBottom/Symmetry "discussion" wheel before. In his mind, this is a win.

I've realized there is ultimately no purpose in having a discussion with him since he refuses to think critically about his own arguments, although I suppose you or Saxi could take some enjoyment from this.

The Council for the National Interest, a group of distinguished retired statesmen from both parties (including Sen. James Abourezk [D-South Dakota], Rep. Pete McCloskey* [D-California], Rep. Paul Findley [R-Illinois], etc.), university professors and former U.S. foreign service and intelligence officers, has released a statement:

Over the past two weeks, Syria has become the latest front in the campaign being waged by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) to force the United States to take military action against all of Israel’s enemies in the Middle East. Syria is AIPAC’s war and, for the first time, we have an opportunity to turn the prevailing politics around.

The Council has released a letter from AIPAC that underscores this point:

Me?
You refuted my arguments by quoting the "FSA Commander" who was not the FSA commander, and posting nondescript videos from a website that distributes porn. Sorry about your little butt, but I am not going to seriously debate with you over the credentials of a conspiracy/booty website. When you drop the troll act and post real links, maybe cc will take you seriously.
Just be glad that I forgave you instead of reporting you. And go ahead and dare me to, I've saved screencaps of your pornography and everything.

And nice job TGD, for no longer being the bigger man.

How can you seriously think that a U.S. conflict in Syria is a good thing? Not just right now, but ever? What national or international interest is achieved beyond hegemony in the region for the United States (which has not been stated as a reason given by the supporters of the conflict within the White House)? If the answer is "humanitarian" then why not Sudan or any of the other regions of the world where conflict and abuse and potential genocide is rampant?

The only answers I can see for the reason you support this conflict is because the president you support is in favor of it and you don't have the wherewithal or desire to conflict with his desires. There is nothing I've read to date that provides any other coherent reason.

In his September 11 message, the legendary former Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) - now leader of the Kucinich Action PAC - declares even the boasts and bloviating of Obama constitutes a prosecutable crime against humanity: "in the international legal framework, the US' threat of war against another nation, is a crime in itself."

Italian Journalist Kidnapped and Tortured by rebel Free Syrian Army Finally Released!

The BBC reports on journalist Domenico Quirico who has just been freed after being tortured for 6 months by the Free Syrian Army before eventually being turned over by FSA fighters to Al-Qaeda, who let him go. Quirico explains that it was actually Al-Qaeda who treated him best - the so-called "non-fundamentalist rebels" that the U.S. is supposedly supporting - were just a gaggle of thugs and mercenaries who were trying to make a quick buck.

An Italian war correspondent held captive by multiple armed groups in Syria has spoken of how he was treated "like an animal".

In the pages of his newspaper, La Stampa, the 62-year-old described being subjected to two mock executions.

He said his captors were "mixed-up" men consumed by the pursuit of money.

Paradoxically, he said, "the only ones who treated us with humanity were those closest to al-Qaeda", because they had an attitude towards prisoners - a code of conduct - that other captors lacked.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-24039309

Quirico goes on to report he, and his fellow captives, observed rebels plotting chemical weapons attacks while he was being held captive, as chronicled in the 148 year-old iconic Italian newspaper La Stampa ...

ā€œDuring the Skype conversation, they said that the gas attack on the two neighbourhoods in Damascus had been carried out by rebels as a provocation, to push the West towards a military intervention. They also said they believed the death toll had been exaggerated,ā€ Quirico said in his statement.

All I saw in JB's latest screed was that he was rambling on about something having to do with "booty" and "porn" now. This is basically what I imagine the Titanic crashing into the Death Star on the 4th of July would probably look like.

Thomas Barnett, a Harvard educated professor of military strategy at the U.S military at the U.S Naval War College was advising the Office of Secretary of Defense. Within weeks of Sept 11, he was called to the Pentagon and installed as the assailant for strategic futures in the Office of Force Transformations. He was giving briefings regularily to the Pentagon, military and intelligence community. He considers the Middle East to be in a category called "seam states." Barnett referse to this region, the breeding ground of "global terrorists" as the "Non Integrated Gap." These regions stall globalization. The desired spread of globalization requires a War on Terror. In addition, Barnett insists, states that ponder taking themselves "off-line from globalization" should be detered from this move by the Cores ability to threaten them militarily. The Core being North America, Europe, Australia and small parts of Latin America. I personally believe a Hegelian style system is being played on the world. Play both sides of any given situation as long as the new system is already planned and can be controlled by the same group pushing the buttons. Its allabout the benjamins baby. The Middle Eas is prime real estate for globalization. Its the leaders of multiple factions that cant get along that pose a risk to globalism in the neoliberal sense.

There is nothing that I've read to date that provides any coherent reason for what is really going on with you and BBS. I heard you guys were writing each other's names in wet cement or something. I heard you don't have the wherewithal or desire to conflict with his desires or something?

I'm the Hypocrite?
Lol, you act the fool. You said "Oh Imma be the bigger man and put Juan on foe and never respond to him again." Then whats the first goddamn thing you do when I start posting again?

You start responding. Bitch please!

Oh you chest-thumping Hypocrite.
You haven't read my posts in this thread because you put me on foe. Nice try, liar.

And ya know, it is what it is. I know why you're quoting me, and it's not about this thread.
You just want to be one of the guys. You want to be one of those funny trolls; you want to fit in and be a part of something. Isn't that why you joined the MOD SQUAD? Because you wanted attention? You know that's true. But the run is that you don't have the ability to be entertaining. You're not funny and your posts are too dry. And the Achilles heel of it all; you can't let anything go, because to you it's all personal.

I mean think about it, you always wait until I'm in it with Saxi and/or BBS before you start talking sh*t, because they will protect your feels. You wait till there's blood drawn and everybody's wounded before you close in, like a deformed shark stealing a bite. If your post is too dumb and boring (and it will be) then Saxi or BBS will post after you and nobody will remember it. And if you get too butthurt about me talking about how you give the money that you "earn" by ripping off honest taxpayers to pedophiles with robes, then I'm already on foe so you don't have to read anymore. You're just a toad, a lackey; a useless distraction. You take no risk but hope everyone remembers you were there.
How useless are your troll posts, I mean, you attacked Symmetry and he's not even posting anymore. He never even commented in this thread. How is he supposed to defend himself with you shit talking behind his back? If you read this thread, then why do you think he's a part of it? F*cking Philadelphia. You bring nothing to the conversation and attack people who aren't even a part of it. Do you want me to think Saxi and BBS needed your help? Did BBS tag you in after he got slammed for posting porn links? Do you feel like one of the big boys when you make fun of people who aren't here?

And for the record, Symmetry is 9000x the poster that you are. I've seen him send you into a titter just by asking a single logical question and walking away. You'll never be as intelligent or as fast as he is. There isn't a ladder on Earth that could raise you to his level.

I mean, maybe I'm mistaken here and you're totally up for a legitimate discussion. If, as a professional corporate tax lawyer, specializing in ripping of the rest of us taxpayers you have learned some secrets about BBS' claimed conspiracies about Syrian gold and Saudi Reserve Dollars, don't be too put off to share it.
Actually though, your career as a corporate stooge seems to fit into your pattern of trying to please the big boys.

I don't agree with it, but there is something to be said for the idea. General Clark said something about it and Middle Eastern states before he retired. But for the life of me, I cannot find a quote on the google.

I can't help myself because I can't stand the hypocrisy. There is nothing worse than a chest-thumping hypocrit. At least Frigidus has the good grace to admit that he backed a DINO for president.

When the opponent grounds his arguments in logical fallacies, then we can safely conclude he's got nothing intelligent to bring to the conversation.

Keep up the stupidity, JB. You believe your country needs it.

I've bolded (in red) my portion of the serious discussion above.
