This isn't a thread about the billions of liters of milk that is wasted, or the fact that dairy farmers are stealing all the trophy wives in Canada.
This is about Gillette Emperor Smurf. This cow set the world record for most milk produced by a cow in a lifetime last year, to little fanfare and very little media coverage. I was at the EX looking at the cows, she was there, but there wasn't even anything about her there.
The owners bred her for longevity. Does this mean that they can take some credit or is it all on the cow? What sort of reward should there be for such a cow? The owners say:
When she dies, she'll be buried on our farm.
Do you think they kept it quiet because they didn't want hordes of protestors at the farm? If that is the case, doesn't it indicate that they do have a guilty conscience, that what they are doing is evil? Otherwise they would celebrate in public.
The last time something like this happened, the Dionne quintuplets went on to become a cash cow for the Canadian government. Why not G. E. Smurf (just Smurf to those that know her well)?
