Everyone looks 'not great' this year compared to the Broncos.

I dunno... 3 Cutler INTs and a fumble lost is a lot to overcome.

I'm gonna do that next season (too late to start doing that this one).

SF @ StL No way they lose three straight. Though Thursday night games are always shitty.
Bal @ Buf
Cin @ Cle
Chi @ Det
Sea @ Hou Texans ground and pound
Ind @ Jax
NYG @ KC Coughlin and Eli are too good for 0-4.
Pit @ Min
Ari @ TB
NYJ @ Ten
Phi @ BRONCOS
Was @ Oak
Dal@ SD
NE @ Atl
Mia @ NO Tannehill lights up the Saints D

I have a feeling I'm going to have a really bad record this week...

Blergh, 7-8. I took too many chances.

Miami had a shot but the Saints made plays and the Dophins folded when it counted.

40-23 overall.

Since I accidentally crossed out my picks instead of bold-ing them, I'm too lazy to cross out the losers.

Ravens @ Bills ... No Stiller? No problem... Baltimore has no balls.
Bengals @ Browns ...Cleveland has a win streak
Bears @ Lions...Chicago joins the give-a-way club
Seahawks @ Texans ...Schaub's gift, a pick six and the win.
Colts @ Jaguars ... Jags started the scoring & the Colts finished it
Giants @ Chiefs ...Wow, another butt kicking for an 0-4 Giants team
Steelers @ Vikings ...Big Ben had it right there and dropped the ball
Cards @ Bucs ...a Zona comeback
Jets @ Titans ... No Quarter from Tennessee
Eagles @ Broncos ... Peyton continues to soar a mile high
Redskins @ Raiders ...Skins finally slep in a win
Cowboys @ Bolts ... a second half goose egg for Ohno & the boys

Week 4
Win - Niners @ Rams - Will be a close game.
Loss - Ravens @ Bills
Win - Bengals @ Browns - Cleveland looked decent last week and I'm not buying into the Bengals yet.
Win - Bears @ Lions - Reggie Bush is going to play and I'm not buying into Chicago yet. Still way too lucky.
Win - Seahawks @ Texans - This is going to be a blowout.
Win - Colts @ Jaguars
Win - Giants @ Chiefs - Will be a close game. Giants aren't that bad. Chiefs aren't that good.
Loss - Steelers @ Vikings - The Vikings are not a good team.
Win - Cardinals @ Bucs - Schiano is going to take the Texas job... maybe gets fired this week?
Loss - Jets @ Titans - Jets have had bad breaks, Titans have had good ones. Switches this week.
Win - Eagles @ Broncos
Win - Redskins @ Oakland
Win - Cowboys @ Chargers - Let down game for the Cowboys
Loss - Patriots @ Falcons - Falcons will be fired up; Patriots are not that good anymore (famous last words).
Win - Dolphins @ Saints - Should be a good game. Top offense vs. top defense

11-4. My analysis was shit though.

I overestimated the Jets (like you said).
Didn't get the Seahawks analysis right. I guess I undervalued the Texans.
I really did think the Steelers could stop AP and therefore stop the Vikings.
And the Patriots game I sort of saw coming given my "(famous last words)" quote.
Giants-Chiefs was close until the 3rd quarter.

I have to rethink my analysis if I want to continue to be the hot picker though.

The logic of this new NFL season doesn't exist,
except to say it's full of early surprises.

Broncos, Saints, Pats, Seahawks and Chiefs all 4-0.

It's been a really hard season to predict. Outside of Seattle and Denver (and maybe the Saints and Pats) any team can lose any week in my opinion.

Saints @ Bears ... cool Brees in the Windy City
Pats @ Bengals ... overachievers top the underachievers?
Lions @ Packers ... Lambau nudge maybe

Ravens @ Dolphins... Fish serve up a home win
Eagles @ Giants ... who is more desperate here?
Jaquars @ Rams ...Bradford's had good protection
Chiefs @ Titans ... another good one, wanna see a KC at 5-0
Panthers @ Cardinals ... Cam's well rested
Broncos @ Cowboys ... pass defense may be wishful thinking, GO COWBOYS!
Texans @ Niners ...dunno what to expect here... Offense or Defense
Chargers @ Raiders ...might be interesting if Pryor is back
Jets @ Falcons ... only the Giants have more turnovers than the Jets QB

Jump right in, the more the merrier or something like that.
The balance of power early in this NFL Season and the closeness
of games will certainly drive a few people nuts. I haven't paid a
lot of attention to the point spreads, but it has to be a killer.

Shock & Awe? The Chiefs and Seahawks starting out 4-0
while the Giants and Steelers are 0-4

The early pick I overlooked that can be tossed out there
beyond what teams might make the post season...
Who meets in the Super Bowl
and who wins it ?

Last year with point spreads I was getting 9-10 games every week correct. I ended up in the top 10 for my pool. This year, I am getting 7-9 right only, putting me near the end. The guy in first has a trick - he only picks underdogs and then switches 2 or 3 of his picks over to favorites. Betting on Seattle and Denver has put him up at the top.

Week Five from TGD:

- Bills @ Browns - I'm buying Cleveland right now
- Saints @ Bears - I wouldn't be surprised if the Bears won, but the Saints are sneakily the best team in the NFC (sorry Seattle)
- Pats @ Bengals - Did I mention I hate the Patriots? I'm going to keep picking against them.
- Lions @ Packers - I'm really not sure about this one.
- Seahawks @ Colts - I think the Colts could win as well.
- Ravens @ Dolphins - Ravens get back on track.
- Eagles @ Giants - I think the Eagles defense is circling the drain (I'm starting Eli this week in all leagues)
- Jaguars @ Rams - Jaguars stink.
- Chiefs @ Titans - Wouldn't surprise me if the Titans win.
- Panthers @ Cardinals - Panthers are sneaky good.
- Broncos @ Cowboys - Not much to say here.
- Texans @ Niners - I think this is going to be close.
- Chargers @ Raiders - Chargers are looking pretty good.
- Jets @ Falcons - Falcons bounce back.

The Browns defense has been showing up, Hoyer's played well and it wouldn't surprise me to see them extend their win streak to three. But they'll have to slow down the Bills running game to do it.

I can also see Bengals, Lions, Seahawks, Ravens, Eagles, Titans, Cardinals and Texans shredding my picks with wins.

My top Five atm:
Denver Broncos
New Orleans Saints
Seattle Seahawks
Kansas City Chiefs
Indianapolis Colts

I agree with the top 3. I would put San Francisco and Detroit in the discussion over Kansas City and Indy.

I like the Niners, but Indy already visited San Francisco
and I'm giving Andy Reid some kudos for staying perfect
so far at home and on the road.

The Pats are right there in the thick of it too. They aren't
their typical selves, but The Coach and Brady continue to
find ways to get it done.

Chiefs are improved, but their opponents have a combined 3-13 record right now. No way would I put them top 5.

I'd go:
1. Broncos (obviously)
2. Seahawks
3. Saints
4. Pats (Once Brady gets Gronk, Damnendola and Vareen, they'll be back to amazing offensively)
5. Niners

Denver has pretty well solidified itself as the team to beat. A high powered offense run by future hall of famer Peyton Manning, and a highly talented defense that may allow yards, but are pretty stingy on points.
