Thanksgiving recipes that are weird to me

Any "salad" that involves jello.

Anything involving marshmallow and sweet potatoes.

Anything boiled in coca-cola.

Add your own.

That is bad in, I think, two ways.

This shows how different things are where I live in the Southern United States... (Aside from cooking ANYTHING in fucking soda)

Some that are weird to me as a southerner.

Mac and cheese as a "gourmet" dish
Not drinking constantly through the day
Families not fighting in snide, biting comments throughout the meal.

Macaroni and cheese should be banned except for infants and the infantile. Drinking through the day should be mandatory for everyone. It makes it easier for me to bluff my step-family that Brits don't know how to play Texas Hold-em.

Not really a Thanksgiving recipe, or even a recipe for poutine, but hey, thanks.

That is a recipe for vegetarianism right there. Is it true that Americans do this on TV for Thanksgiving?

I would find most dishes dosed with nationalism more than a bit odd...

There is nothing weird about this. Sausage wrapped in bacon should be a staple of any festivity not religiously mandated to exclude it.

Why do you ask? Are you bringing something?

10 White Castle hamburgers, no pickles
1 1/2 cups celery, diced
1 1/4 tsp. ground thyme
1 1/2 tsp. ground sage
3/4 tsp. coarsely ground black pepper
1/4 cup chicken broth

In a large mixing bowl, tear the burgers into pieces and add diced celery and seasonings. Toss and add chicken broth. Toss well. Stuff cavity of turkey just before roasting. Makes about 9 cups (enough for a 10- to 12-pound turkey). Note: Allow 1 hamburger for each pound of turkey, which will be the equivalent of 3/4 cup of stuffing per pound.
