Quote; In that case, I will ask for the second time, how are you gonna go about getting rid of all the guns in Ameirca?
What exactly is step 1 in the non-American's solution for America? End quote.

I think the best answer (maybe the only) would be for the American President to enforce Marshal Law.
The Likelihood is slim, but it would be a start...now on to Step two

What is step 2?

So your first step as an American would be Marshal [sic] law?

Great way to get all the guns from folks...

Thanks for starting Civil War II

NO; that is not at all what I am saying!
Somebody requested a answer to a question.
I never said I agree with it.

Invoking Marshal Law would most likely have the same results as any other Suggestion, when it come to ridding America of Guns.
Sure, America could try to move in other directions first. But the outcome would most likely be Marshal Law coming into Power, in many States.

I am not talking about every single state (50) being under Marshal Law at the same time; Even eliminating a few from ever being put under Marshal Law.

The President has the Power. It might even go unnoticed.
Similar to a Marshal (law) being put on air travel.

Unless we're talking about Matt Dillon and Deputy Festus taking over, you mean martial law. M A R T I A L. And if the Feds ever try it,
there really will be a 2nd civil war. It's all supposition of course. Even the current idiots in office aren't ignorant or arrogant enough to believe they could get away with imposing martial law.

As if you and other Americans restrict their comments only to their own country. You had shitloads to say about the Breivik shootings in Norway (not USA) remember? As well as being unenforceable such self censorship would result in an extremely boring INTERNATIONAL forum.Someone from a small country like Andorra or San Marino where relatively little happens of great importance would effectively be prohibited from posting. You see this is not America's planet and bullies don't get to make all the rules.

No, actually I don't remember that. It's your mis-assumption, and anything I said was mostly asking others and listening.

He doesn't live in America, he doesn't know America. He can say whatever he wants, but it sounds just as stupid as me telling the Mongolians their way of live is outdated and they should change their entire history and culture and heritage.

Phatscotty wrote:I think a lot of people get their self gratification in ripping the USA. It's their way of sticking their nose in the air and saying "We are better than you" I just don't know why they care about another country other than their own so much.

Oh, how wrong you are...I know America very well thanks. Yes I've spent plenty of time in the U.S. over the years.

Are you of the same opinion, since many people also die from drinking and driving, that we should also get rid of all the alcohol in America?

No, but we could make breathalyzers mandatory to start a car.

We could also let agent answer the question he's already been dodging for a few pages. But I know you will help him dodge. You only care about dodging if you think I'm doing it.

What is more important to you -- forcing people to answer your rhetorical questions, or having a meaningful discussion on a subject?

I choose meaningful discussion, with the person I am trying to discuss with. I don't find your response meaningful, and it is the case that I believe you are usually purposefully unmeaningful. ie I am calling out agent, not Mets.

I simply would like to hear the author explain the premise of the thread, since I think it's highly likely he hasn't even begun to think about it, which would go towards my premise that he doesn't know what he's talking about.

Thanks for the bullshit Scotty, you shouldn't assume you know me..but now I know you lol

Since I've been called out, then I will answer. Legalize all drugs and make them taxable, this would fix so many problems to do with guns. Then do as Australia did ( check out how Australia did this and the laws associated with legal guns still in use ) and remove guns that are not required..simple

Sure criminals will get their hands on guns, but it's easier to find them and keep them to a minimum..impossible to remove them all. No more kids running around shooting innocent people, food for thought.

This would have a big impact on the economy and make it safer..

Pawn shops, Gun Dealers, Camping supply stores, gun ranges, and so many other SMALL businesses would go out of business... It certainly WOULD have a big impact on the economy... A negative one. I live right next to the Remington ammunition manufacturing plant.... 2K+ people are employed by them... Guess they just need to suck it up and find a new job, then, eh?

Oh, ya that's it...I knew that.

A good amount of Americans don't believe Alaska is part of the United States (they think we are Canada or something).
Alaska would be first.
You can look at it any Scenario you want.
Martial Law will be end result...If that don't cut it Send in Marshal Matt Dillon.

Civil War...Pfff, no way.
Survivalist and Criminals would have the Hardest time with it.
Most people would assimilate.

In that case we shouldn't close that brothel because that will put all the girls, bar staff and security, cleaners, etc out of work. We shouldn't prohibit drugs because that puts all the growers, cookers, suppliers and street dealers out of work. We shouldn't try and shut down organised crime because all those enforcers, bully boys and extortionists running protection rackets will have to find a new way to earn a living.

Because it creates (or maintains) jobs is one of the lamest excuses I've ever heard for anything. Sure I don't agree with the reasons most of the pro-gun side give for wanting to keep their guns, but this? pfft...

What is legal or illegal is not fixed in stone for evermore and varies greatly from country to country. The US famously prohibited alcohol last century..

Those are realistic answers? K, so, I gotta ask ya...Would it have been so simple in Australia if it were not an island? Say, it shared a border with Mexico...or something....Sure, you would think the legalizing drug part would auto-wipe the drug cartels, but guns would be the new drugs...no?
