The importance of timing

I have been a regular player (not one of the great, but a normal one, I guess) and I have found interesting to play, even in non-speed games, with a great timing, especially with Nuclear spoils and freestyle mode. I suppose that many of the great players, especially those who are great in teamwork with their partners, timing has a very important role.
I just want to know the general opinion of how timing affects gameplay and mastering CC.

I use time on a daily basis, perhaps even hourly.
