Ok so to comment on the two cases.

Anarkist at first seemed scummy to me. I mean who soft claims at 2 votes in an 18 player game. Then he does the badger breadcrumb, denial, confirmation thing. This looks even scummier.

I did convince myself that maybe he was a town player who got a role they like and is excited to play but trying to keep low. Trying to drop enough info that we stay off him without actually claiming. Maybe he's not actually a VT but a power role trying to hide from scum as a VT. I don't think scum would have claimed like this. Scum would claim something we wouldn't lynch instead of try to look like they weren't worth a NK. Anyway, all that said.

because despite me seeing it in a townie light I can't keep from thinking that scum never kill the obvious target N1 because they don't know what protection there might be so there's no harm in him coming forward with a power role claim. That just doesn't sit well with me and makes me think we should lynch the erratic VT for the safest scenario of loss to town v possibility of catching scum since he'll be the smallest loss (VT) and his play puts him in a category as one of the most suspicious.

I don't really get how the Superkeaner case started. To me it seems that he went back and forth on the Nark case as many of us probably did (see my jabbering above) and X-Stor-x jumped on him followed by a wagon of people with votes as elightned as this:

I'm not willing to vote for Nark or Super at this point.

My biggest scumread is IB for the quick hop on the bandwagon and the generally filler-type posts he's made all game, so far.

Second would be Mets. I originally agreed with cooldeals; that's just Mets' attitude etc. but MoB as made some valid points worth considering.

Well, if town is stupid enough to lynch me, then so be it... I do, however, still know there is scum on any wagon... Most of you have spent ten pages regurgitating the same old lines as someone previous to you... Wow, how original and convenient... I don't see how several of you, who know how easy it is to jump on bandwagons, aren't seeing this... If I say, "John Doe looks scummy for this and this," and then for ten pages people repeat the same thing in different ways, it isn't really saying much of anything aside from they can read...

You all have wasted a good part of the time we have left with asinine statements and pointless questions to one another.

I also have to be honest... in this large of a game, there are at least five scum... So, assuming you get one or two stupid townies, you can lynch someone at the end of the day guaranteed. The scum will just keep this up day after day, and town will not stand a chance. I don't much like a rule that allows five out of 18 people to dictate a lynch because in an 18 person game, you have at least five antitown players... It seems like that guarantees a mafia win to me...

So, do with that what you will... I need to update Whitechapel and play some of my turns... I will come back later to try to say more, assuming I think of anything else... Maybe a reread of the last few pages.

Things are pretty heptic here, so aplogies for the short post based on what's happened, in the thread since I last posted.

What sticks out is that IB is a flip-flop (good start for D2) and the superkeener BW rolled quickly and then people thought hang on a minute what the hell is this case on about?! (so I disagree with the case if you read between the lines there) Oh, and I disagree with X-Stor-X call to vote, vote or your a scumster, funny response from Mets, with a little bit of reasoning.

My vote stays on Nark, I would like to see a D1 lynch on him for the early claim, and because it's the only claim on the board.

Well in the limit of infinite time we could force a second claim, but the deadline is in 24 hours and it would be hard to organize the right pressure in time (especially since there's several different leads people are chasing after). I also don't think that we have nothing going into D2 -- I plan to push on IB pretty hard for his scummy bandwagoning onto the superkeener case. X-Stor-X certainly got the activity he wanted.

a no lynch gives no information at all and would be the worse thing to start day 2. lynching you has a huge risk/reward value for town, you can't deny that.
If we still have time for a claim, right now i'd be more interested to get one from IB than from super to tell the truth.

strike, can we ask for a couple of days extension for the deadline?

Are you really that clueless? My vote on x-stor-x him was from the joke/beginning of the game when it was meaningless. I in fact had forgotten I voted him and removed it.

It would be stupid play for mafia to tie themselves to someone that so easily drew attention. Again one has to ask why a mafia would claim with NO Pressure. If Anarchist is lynched and flips Town then I suppose its safe to assume that mafia was on his bandwagon?? Especially when he claimed so early that players do not have to justify their vote?

I notice I have a few votes on me for agreeing with Superkeener as well. Interesting that no one acknowledges the blatant OMGUS.

This is day 1. We have 18 players so we do not want a no-lynch.

What would be the purpose for extra time? (personally im used to 48 hour cycle for day and 24 hour cycle for night. ) Would anything actually change? and what ever answer you give, could we possibly do that before our current dead line?

Personally my opinion hasn't changed much regarding Super. I have to agree, the manner in which people hopped on (specially one of my other scum reads virus) and the lack of input felt weird. (Also none of my town reads hopped on or contributed to the lynching of super)

So as of right now people i'd be ok with pressuring, still be fine on super (probably last on the list atm), fine with anark (his play has been very awkward since my initial push on him. He started to contribute decently imo, yet latter it has now seen to be more defeated and insulting. I would lean more scummy on the actions of "yelling and insulting" rather than trying to convince people of your reads. I would have to relook Iron Butterfly, before pushing him.

Lastly Virus, very lurky, weird vote. (i say weird because it was "im willing to think you are town, so im fine with who you push) He had nothing really to say about super. Seems more like a way to "buddy up" to the guy who is calling him scum.

So slight update, only Rodion has yet to vote if i am correct.

There is still the potential to pressure people for all those people who have "wanted to" but think it might be a little "to late" Anyone with 1 vote or less imo will be to difficult to get any significant pressure on to push anything.

I'd love to be more active folks and have been following the thread...

I believe I have bit off more than I can chew though but signing up and involving myself in three mafia games, I see themes and I am like looks sick defo wanna play!

I will be in Paris from wednesday evening to sunday and as of the 25th march I am going to be in thailand and won't be back in the UK for a good two months. Realistically, at current pace the game won't have progressed much further so it does provide me with regret that for the good of the game rather than the good of myself, that I will need to be replaced. I shall PM strike wolf to make necessary arrangements, if it is a struggle for him to replace I will continue to monitor the thread and engage for as much as possible.

It seems to me that the wagon that has formed on me is because I agreed with X-stor-X and voted. Up until that point all we had was the Anarch case. You all know where I stand on that.

There is a difference between a scum read and an actual case. Is there a reason you did not address the OMGUS vote by Superkeener?? He voted for me because I agreed with X-stor-X.

I've had bad experiences with scum reads on IB and mets in the past. Well against mets it was just once but a pretty epic fight where we were both 100% convinced from day one till the final day that the other was mafia when we were in fact both town and we made town lose.... and IB it's just countless games where I always get it wrong about him. so i think that I'd rather not get too involved. I suck at reading IB.

With 18 alive it takes 10 to lynch. Deadline is Tuesday, March 4th in 1 day. The soft deadline is noon EST but likely I won't be able to get around to a scene until later (after 3 pm). Reminder anyone 5+ votes with the most at the end of the day will be lynched. As of right now, Anarkist would be lynched. As far as extending the deadline, I want to keep a stricter deadline in place for this game especially since it is an official one. Other than that, Tuesday works the best for me schedule wise.

in that game; i caught rishaed as mafia on his first post. you defended him and saw me as mafia all game, and i saw you as mafia for that terrible read on me and defense on rishaed. at the end rishaed WAS mafia, so not too sure why you are not sharing resonsabilities here

but we all know that gustaf was the one who really made town lose! :lol:
