Interesting how in BBC news, you can not find comments in articles.
On CNN i can read people comments. And im surprised how many people see how US-EU pretend to forget what hapening in last 10 years ,and how they forget braking of international norms, and change in force other country goverments.
some comments:(pro-us,,neutral view, and pro russian)
President Obama does not approve and his wishes should take precedence. Pres Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize and knows more about foreign policy than anyone. Putin should give Crimea back.
PUTIN IS A TARGET!
YOU KEEP FOLLOWING HIM YOU WILL BE POOR AND HUNGRY AGAIN!
Tooooooooooo much power for one man, PUTIN, I think Russia need to be put back in their place in this world! Sneak Attack! Confuse them, and stop them in their tracks! Is this beginning of the anti Christ? If not the US have to make their move now! Enough talking! It time to act before this Putin gain way to much power and may even try to overtake the US!
Why did Obama drag us into this mess? We should have left it alone. Now he looks like a fool.
Putin is not the problem in this crisis. Ukraine tried to bully Russia using their Western allies as a stick. It backfired turning into a badly miscalculated political mistake. The Crimea has only been part of the Ukraine since 1954 and is mostly ethnic Russian making it not worth fighting for. The Ukraine rolled the dice and lost the Crimea. It could have been worse.
This shows how hypocrite the West is. The West just cares about its own interests and benefits, and doesn't care a straw about what the people of Crimea wants and their interests. They want to merge with Russia, but the West acts as if it's blind and deaf.
We did the same in Libya, Egypt, and Syria too. All 3 countries had about 1% willing to overthrow their regimes. We enabled 1% to wage bloody battles against their governments (even if they are scumballs). That is not how you conduct foreign policy but it was amateur hour foreign policy wise. Has been that way a while Bush Sr. Is the only one in the past few decades who foreign policy wise knew what he was doing.
By the way geopolitically Crimea is leverage for us to negotiate for lower energy prices from Russia mostly for the EU. By the way Germany is silent on this.
See if we can restrict Russia's access to the black sea we can negotiate lower energy prices or we can use it to put a dent in its military sales to other BRIC countries.
