Aren't you forgetting someone? O:)

Jesus. Sure.

But quirk quoted a partial statement. I was called a hypocrite. To which I agreed & followed who isn't a hypocrite. No one (besides Jesus( thank you degaston)) has perfectly done according to all theirs words and beliefs.

Another sign we are close to the Messiah:
The Bible says in the end times God will restore Israel and gather my people from around the world who were scattered and Israel will blossom as a rose in the desert.

Having just traveled to Israel, the surrounding areas are desolate and barren, yet Israel is blossoming in agriculture and commerce. All within the last 60 years.

Very true: "Israel experiencing unprecedented drought conditions"

With all due respect, Quirk, it's often the best kinds of people who admit that they don't live up to their ideals. I think all of us do the best we can in life and try to live according to our beliefs.

Even folks who go out of their way to live as good a life as possible ultimately don't live up to their ideals. Say what you will about Benjamin Franklin (prostitute chaser, slave owner, sweet bifocals), but he did at least set out some ideals to follow, and he found that the more he tightened his grip on one, the more other virtues would slip through his fingers.

Peter Kreeft puts it another way: "The best people are the ones who are most reluctant to call themselves good people. Sinners think they are saints, but saints know they are sinners. The best man who ever lived once said, 'No one is good but God alone.'"

How could anyone possibly act in a way that is not congruent with their beliefs?

I believe that getting more exercise would be good for me. My actions are not congruent with that belief.

What a ridiculous statement.

People can be so cold and brash through the keyboard 1,000s of miles away. Quirk it will serve you better if you are more tactful and kind. Also state why you view the statement is in error, rather than just making a blanket statement with no premise.

Get ready the time is near!

I have heard "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" my entire life. It should not be difficult to understand how a non-Christian might find it offensive to be told that we are all sinners. I realize the world is filled with people who strive for the unattainable and I pity them. I strongly believe it is possible to live a fulfilling life without compromising your beliefs. I accept when someone tells me "we are all sinners" that just disagreeing with that makes me a sinner. However, saying no one ever has lived perfectly according to their own words/beliefs/etc. is saying something more.

I doubt anyone falls short of the glory of god,
our mere existence is proof of that.

We're all human and make mistakes, but that
is what the human experience is all about...
and all sins are forgiven.

Well the Bible is pretty clear about mass murder being ok in some circumstances, and paedophelia isn't a crime, so...

The burning bush in that story was clearly an allegory for STD's. Which are transmitted by the gays. Just like 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina.

Yes and God is punishing us in Chicago with a terrible winter for legalizing Gay marriage and being pro-choice. At least God helped us with global warming.

They only got $19,000 of $100,000, and suddenly the Devil gets blamed. Good publicity. Maybe the susceptible will start donating.

Another sign that the Messiah is near:
The Bible describes at the end times there will be incurable diseases/pestilences as a result of mankind's sin. For example HIV resulting in AIDS is just one of many indicators that the Messiah is near.

"He told them this parable: “Look at the fig tree and all the trees. 30 When they sprout leaves, you can see for yourselves and know that summer is near. Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near." Get ready.
