My next point for NOT legit is the obvious one:

Bunnies are mammals. Mammals (other than platypuses and anteaters) don't lay eggs, and certainly other bunnies don't lay eggs.
But the Easter Bunny lays eggs. So the Easter Bunny must not be a bunny.
If the Easter Bunny is not a bunny, it's most definitely not legit for trying to pretend that it's actually a bunny.

Easter is associated with Christianity, and is clearly a Christian festival.

But is it?

The excerpt below is from this site http://www.ucg.org/doctrinal-beliefs/what-are-real-origins-easter/

Easter isn't a Christian or directly biblical term, but comes from a form of the name Astarte, a Chaldean (Babylonian) goddess known as "the queen of heaven." (She is mentioned by that title in the Bible in Jeremiah:7:18 and 44:17-19, 25 and referred to in 1 Kings:11:5, 33 and 2 Kings:23:13 by the Hebrew form of her name, Ashtoreth. So "Easter" is found in the Bible—as part of the pagan religion God condemns!)

Further, early Christians, even after the times of the apostles, continued to observe a variation of the biblical Passover feast (it differed because Jesus introduced new symbolism, as the Bible notes in Matthew:26:26-28 and 1 Corinthians:11:23-28).

Moreover, Easter was very different from the Old Testament Passover or the Passover of the New Testament as understood and practiced by the early Church based on the teachings of Jesus Christ and the apostles.

And again, Easter was a pagan festival, originating in the worship of other gods, and was introduced much later into an apostate Christianity in a deliberate attempt to make such festivals acceptable.
Easter symbols predate Christ

How does The Catholic Encyclopedia define Easter? "Easter: The English term, according to the [eighth-century monk] Bede, relates to Eostre, a Teutonic goddess of the rising light of day and spring, which deity, however, is otherwise unknown . . ." (1909, Vol. 5, p. 224). Eostre is the ancient European name for the same goddess worshipped by the Babylonians as Astarte or Ishtar, goddess of fertility, whose major celebration was in the spring of the year.

The subtopic "Easter Eggs" tells us that "the custom [of Easter eggs] may have its origin in paganism, for a great many pagan customs, celebrating the return of spring, gravitated to Easter" (ibid., p. 227).

The subtopic "Easter Rabbit" states that "the rabbit is a pagan symbol and has always been an emblem of fertility" (ibid.).

Author Greg Dues, in his book Catholic Customs and Traditions, elaborates on the symbolism of eggs in ancient pre-Christian cultures: "The egg has become a popular Easter symbol. Creation myths of many ancient peoples center in a cosmogenic egg from which the universe is born.

"In ancient Egypt and Persia friends exchanged decorated eggs at the spring equinox, the beginning of their New Year. These eggs were a symbol of fertility for them because the coming forth of a live creature from an egg was so surprising to people of ancient times. Christians of the Near East adopted this tradition, and the Easter egg became a religious symbol. It represented the tomb from which Jesus came forth to new life" (1992, p. 101).

The same author also explains that, like eggs, rabbits became associated with Easter because they were powerful symbols of fertility: "Little children are usually told that the Easter eggs are brought by the Easter Bunny. Rabbits are part of pre-Christian fertility symbolism because of their reputation to reproduce rapidly" (p. 102).

What these sources tell us is that human beings replaced the symbolism of the biblical Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread with Easter eggs and Easter rabbits, pagan symbols of fertility. These symbols demean the truth of Christ's death and resurrection.

As you can see, Easter is not a Christian tradition and actually predates Christianity. Easter was incorporated into Christianity under false pretenses and is therefore illegitimate. The Easter bunny is also a pagan symbol and is clearly associated with Christianity and again, under illegitimate circumstances. The whole thing is a fallacy perpetrated by men, not a god. This proves the Easter bunny is illegitimate by association, but definitely cute and cuddly.
The Easter bunny does not exist.

The Easter Bunny is far more legit than the flying Easter Bell theory propagated by the Dutch & French!!
Seriously?? A BELL that supposedly flies to Rome to pick up Easter eggs and deliver them to the children?!?!?

The Easter Bunny is definitely not legit. A bunny does not rise again after it is dead. Instead, an Easter Phoenix might be more appropriate. Further, where does the Easter Bunny get all his eggs? Some are plastic, some are hard boiled, etc. Does he have "elves" as well like Santa to make all those eggs? How do they all get delivered in one night?

It just doesn't add up to me...

It is rather obvious that the Easter bunny is NOT real. The proof is in the eggs. Rabbits do not lay eggs they bear live young. Therefor it violates the laws of nature for a rabbit to be running around birthing chocolate eggs. So we can rightfully conclude the Easter Bunny is not legit...

My mother told me that there was an Easter Bunny and if I believed "HE" would fill my Easter Basket. The year I told her that I didn't believe in the Easter Bunny ... she bought me a little black stuffed dog and said that the Easter Bunny wouldn't be visiting me because I didn't believe any more. SIGH! I still got up Easter morning ~ and looked for my basket. Alas, there was none. The Easter Bunny is alive and well in the hearts and minds of true believers. Bee

When I was a kid, I was a spoiled brat. A real $%&* disturber. But I had saintly little sisters. And you'd think that if the Easter Bunny were legit, that the bunny would leave more candy for the good kids than the bad kids.

Nope, we all got the same amount.

(Initially...then I woke up early, took a little out of everyone's and hid it in my room so that it still looked even, and I still ended up with more). Every year, time after time.

If the Easter Bunny were legit, this never would have been allowed to happen. Not legit.

Since bunnies exist and Easter is a known holiday....there must be an Easter Bunny. It might not be the chocolate egg, jelly bean, etc. delivering bunny we all think of...however there have to be bunnies in this world on Easter which makes an Easter bunny a legitimate animal.

Also, go to google and look up Easter Bunny pictures and you get plenty of real living bunnies sitting next to eggs like the ones below.

The Wall Street Journal reports Easter-Themed TV ad revenues has "ramped up in recent years." The decision of companies to spend millions of dollars to associate themselves with the Easter Bunny is proof positive of Mr. Bunny's reality. Companies would never link themselves with a character that might later be deemed a fraud! The Easter Bunny is real and here is his money trail to prove it:

I present a real life example of the illegitimacy of the Easter Bunny. This takes place in a well known store last evening.

Daughter (maybe 6 or 7, has something she wants to buy): Mommy, I got a project for us to work on at home.
Mom (having already finished checking out): We have plenty of projects at home. Maybe the Easter bunny will put that one in your basket.
Daughter: He might not, so you better get it for me!

If 7 year old kids doubt the Easter Bunny, we all should.

In France, there is no such thing as THE easter bunny. there are easter bunnieSS. You offer easter bunnies, eggs and hens in chocolate. We all know in france that bunnies don't lay eggs, so the easter hens are about as important as the easter bunnies. I think the hens get inseminated by bunnies around easter, which would justify the fat that the eggs are in chocolate at this period of time.
Anyway, easter bunnieSSSS are legit; but there is no such thing as THE easter bunny.

Re: Grand Debate: Is the Easter Bunny Legit?

Many in this thread are confusing the Easter Bunny with the Magic Wee Hing. Now while the Easter Bunny often hangs around with the Magic Wee Hing, the Easter Bunny is NOT the real deal. He's a fraud, he pretends he's Magic and can deliver chocolate-y eggs to all the little children in just one long weekend, but really the eggs are delivered by his Hingness. I present two pieces of evidence for consideration:

1. Debunking the Sightings
show

The above image is often used by "Bunnievers" as proof of the Bunny's magic powers, but if you look really carefully, you will see that this image is ACTUALLY a very good drawing, so good in fact that you can't even notice it's not a real bunny unless you look very closely at the fingers of the left hand, which do not actually have any grip on the 'basket'. Now, we know it's accepted by Bunnievers that the bunny does not have sticky hands, so how can he possibly grip the basket?

2. The "Real" Bunny
show

Now, as mentioned earlier, the Easter Bunny is actually not magic at all, and just lives off his friendship with the Magic Wee Hing, seen above. I took this photo myself, and as you can clearly see, the Bunny is no more magic than you or I. It can't even stop the attentions of the Magic Wee Hing. The bunny is, in fact, simply a Hing-b**ch.

Now you have seen the evidence with your own eyes, I pray of you. REJECT THE FALSE PROPHET, Cast aside the FRAUD.

Repent you ways, and join my in worshiping the true ONE, the MAGIC WEE HING.
