Doing this because How To Train Your Dragon 2 is coming out Friday.
Truth be told, it wasn't until about a month or two ago that I watched it for the first time, the main reason is that the plot had been done to death, a kid who just doesn't fit in with his peers because he does things differently, does/discovers something that redeems him, becomes hero to his peers. What I didn't know, was how well it was executed. The characters are interesting, there's actually a pretty good reason for the conflict (and the whole vikings vs dragons thing is a pretty good combo too), and the main character (and even his whole village) goes through some major changes by the end of the movie. The animation is done superbly, the acting is good, and the overall story and execution of said story makes this movie pretty freakin' good.
I give it a 9/10. Only reason it's not higher is because of the overly used plot line. Great for families, great for by yourself, check it out sometime if you get a chance too!
