Greece qualified with that shit of a team and shit of football as always. God I hate their national team, it s an insult to football to watch them play.

And colombia... Brilliant! So much quality up there. They will beat suarezless uruguay fingers in the nose.

Ok here are the first 4 official 1/8 of finals:

Brasil-chile
Colombia-uruguay

Netherlands-mexico
Costa rica-greece

Costa rica greece, are you shitting me??????? Niet, if by any chance you guys beat the dutch, world cup semifinals are wide open for you guys.

Is there any football fan in Europe outside of Greece who doesn't hate them after 2004? Bastards!!

Holland vs Argentina in the semis for sure... stupid Chile messed up by bracket.

Holland and Germany are to strongest contenders right now, If Mexico beats Holland I'm going to go nuts and start expecting Mexico in the final.

Go with the underdog Costa Rica.

Suarez is a fucking idiot. World News tonight showed the replay and discussed that this is the third time he's bitten an opponent. There's the thought expressed of banning him from the game, period and I tend to agree. Such repeated offenses during play are ridiculous and after a third time inexcusable. Fuck him and let him be infamous for ending his career as the biter.

Brasil-colombia will be very entertaining in quarter finals, if logic works.

Yeah, we will most likely have brasil-germany and argentina-netherlands in semis. After that anything can happen.

You know, I know he's done bad and that there could be reasonable concerns that he could end up biting an ear off if he continues but.. I agree with betiko, these guys advance in their careers thanks mostly for having that strong will, a belief that nothing can't stop them. It's instinctive. Defenders are telling him that he can't score every match and he trusts his instinct and his will over anything else. He fights a war every match.

Banning him forever from the game might be a little bit extreme IMO, the strongest ban I can think of is 6 months and that seems too much to me.

What happens with the Americanos? Do they not recover from the crushing depression of snatching a draw from the jaws of a hard fought victory in the final seconds against Portugal?

I think biting another player in a game is extreme too and now he's done it three times. Obviously two previous sanctions against him made less of an impression than his teeth in the Italian's shoulder today.

Samaras had some serious mental concentration to not get bothered by the moment, but I don't think that was a penalty in the first place. Grecce got lucky. Speaking of lucky, so was Uruguay, Italy gets a red card for something that was barely worthy of a yellow card, and then they themselves get away with biting. Seriously, what's wrong with him? He has whatever condition Mike Tyson has. It doesn't matter how successful he is because from now on he will always been known as that crazy guy who bites. Even people who don't know anything about football now knows he's that guy who bites people, just as people who don't know about boxing still knows about Tyson's biting antiques.

I m talking about semi finals bro, not playground games vs ghana far from its level, and far from being a football superpower; nor vs a sorry ass portugal with a sorry ass cristiano unfit to play.

I had the decency not to put france in semi finals and we have shown a bit more than you guys so far..

If you're going to say Italy didn't deserve a red card on Marchisio's penalty, then you have to admit Balotelli should have been shown red instead of yellow for his knee to Pereira's head.

Bollocks.

In all seriousness it's an impossible one to get right. Ban him for 6 months and he misses half of Liverpoos season, what did Liverpoo do wrong? He was playing for his country why punish the club? But then again the lunatic bite someone in the fucking shoulder... and not for the first time.

I think a fair punishment would be a permanent world cup ban, let him play away to Stoke but we all know after his reaction against Ghana 4 years ago and the way he celebrated his goals against England and he cares a lot more about the WC than playing for Liverpoo... hit him where it hurts. Not where it hurts the club who pay him Millions.

Punishing the player for his actions says nothing about Liverpoop, except that they are willing to overlook the unsportsmanlike conduct of an athlete just to have him on their team.

He's fortunate I have no say in the matter, because in my opinion two sanctioned offenses is plenty and I would vote to kick him out of the sport. Strike three, you're done.

Who would argue that the red card was warranted? Would you? He didn't deserve a red card for that challenge regardless of what else happened in the game. It was completely unwarranted. I don't think Ballotelli's "air acrobatics gone wrong" was worthy of a red card either but at least a case can be made there.
It wasn't a knee though, it was a foot if I remember it correctly, quite a spectacular feat to even get his feet that high up in the air but clearly deserving of a card as he kicked someone in the head. Point is that it was very unfair the way it played out where Uruguay in a sense "got away with murder" and Italy got a man sent off for, "bollocks", I think would be appropriate to call it.

Let s be serious... Costa rica is crap and has no experience in advanced phases. If they reach quarter finals it will already be a hell of an accomplishment.

They, along with Holland, are the two hottest teams right now, regardless of experience. I wouldn't want to play them.

Stranger than the headbutt in South Africa...

The guy is playing on football's biggest stage in front of the World
and he fucking bites a player? It's not just unsportsmanlike, it's a
slap in the face to all footballers, disrespecting the sport, FIFA,
the World Cup, his team, country and everyone involved.

Zinedine Zidane was a magician on the pitch. He lead a French team of stars to a world cup championship and singlehandedly almost wins another for France. What he did in Juventus and Real Madrid was pure class. Top five of all times. That people remembers that headbutt is an offense for football.

Lol please be serious man. Even in case of USA-costa rica the USA would have a better chance. What they did in group stage is great, and I hope they beat the nasty greeks, but quarter finalists is as high as they will ever get. Teams like Argentina will start playing seriously in the knock out phase. Netherlands was finalist of the next world cup, I don t know how their physical condition will be on the long run with heat and humidity though.that side of the brackets is much easier.
