Not at all possible. Maybe you're thinking of Shining Force?

Nothing will ever be better than Donkey Kong. Not money, not fame, not sex, not pure LSD, not a sunrise on Mauna Loa, nothing.

Well, maybe a voyage to the Pleiades. Maybe.

Ok, to a certain extent I get it. I loved playing MK in the arcade, at home on my SNES, and yes - at friends' houses on the Genesis.

I take fighting games pretty seriously. Mortal Kombat really sucked, as a fighting game. Every character had the same speed, and all the same attacks with all the same properties, except 3 or 4 specials. It did have one neat thing - the block button.

I can put Mortal Kombat in a Conquer Club analogy. Let's say a real fighting game (say, for example Mortal Kombat - the 2009 edition [but not the PC edition cuz f*ck]) is Conquer Club now. You might think, wow, this game is great, I better play the groovy one that everyone is talking about. You go to play Groovy Club and you choose a game. You click Begin Turn and all your territories instantly autoattack. You go to choose a territory to deploy and all your territories instantly autoattack. It's a nice polished autoattack - it has sound fx and cd grafx and all, but that's really all you can do. Boooring.

I used to play Mortal Kombat in the arcade machines but it was only fun when you were playing against someone else. Playing the cpu was lame, all you had to do was jump, jump-kick, jump back, jump back, jump back, jump, jump, jump kick.

I don't know what version of Mortal Kombat this was.

But between Mortal Kombat, NBA Jam, and the air hockey machine, I would always choose the air hockey, then NBA Jam.

Were you too poor and Mexican for a Sega? Both Mortal Kombat and NBA jam were much better on a Sega

I just wasn't a big fan of videogames. I remember I had the nintendo, the only games i liked to play was RBI and Punch out. And maybe Mario 3. After that I didn't care much for video games, some friends and my cousins couldn't stop talking about them but for me it was meh. I was more into sports. I played the arcades because it was after school and was an excuse to hang out with other kids, and I played the air hockey machine mostly.

Two things I played when I was a kid:

Never thought about the whole smoking thing being advertised to me on the pinball machine, but I do remember that lady's smoking hand being backwards on her body!

If they remade that game today, they'd all have double Ds instead of C-cups.

You can buy a Sega Genesis with 80 games at Bed Bath and Beyond for $30.00 right now. Saw it today. Or an Atari with 92 games. PLUS the original cartridges work in it.

Oops $40.00
