There is one thing that unites humanity, and it is the Winter Solstice. Sure, different cultures and religions call it different things; but the real reason for the season was the hope that the days would start to get longer and the villagers could start planting crops again. What my father calls "Over the Hump" day. I couldn't think of a better day to celebrate than the Winter Solstice, and if you want to believe a little baby messiah was born on the 25th of December...go ahead! We won't judge you! (unlike the Christians: Matthew 7:1-5)
So eat and make merry, ye ol' gentlemen! For the Hump has arrived and we have passed o'er it's cresting butte to enjoy the day of the warming Dawn! Merry Christmas! Happy Winter Solstice! Sol Invictus!
