The poster I'm talking about is not TGD, if that's what you're thinking. TGD and I have our differences, but no- I was genuinely quite upset that that dude gave another poster nightmares.

I can take a fair bit of abuse, but seeing someone else hurt (and I have no reason to think the poster who had nightmares was being dishonest) was kind of shocking.

See sabby? As Sym has kindly illustrated, not providing quotes can be extremely confusing.

To be fair, the interactions you and I have had about rape have been good candidates for a least favourite, TGD.

You made some wild (to me) claim supported by, we know, cuz we do, and then were never seen again.

Nobel prize winners, thousands of scientist, hundreds of on sight expert witnesses vs a report that can't be scientifically verified. Vs cameras showing nothing. Vs blackboxes whose data is largely unknown. Why is the data that supports your view so hard to come by when it should be ... everywhere?

Jesus man, you're fucking insufferable. Do you really have to bring this up everywhere? Shut the f*ck up about it sometimes. I'm not taking a stance on the matter one way or the other, so please don't come back demanding proof or calling me a sheep or whatever you may feel the need to do. Just maybe talk about something else other than how everything is a fucking conspiracy. Shit gets old, dude.

Um... I'm pretty sure you and I were on the same side in those threads.

There was another thread where I got really pissed and I can't remember what it was.

You and I have only run into objections about rape twice that I can think of- Once when you were a mod and we disagreed about whether doxing people in rape trials was suitable to the forums. You came around to my side on that one, if I remember correctly, but it took a while to get you to acknowledge it.

The second one would be the Thomas Jefferson threadl

You kind of did. Go back and re-read if you need to.

As for who I am? Well, I'm a guy. I used to post in this forum a lot, but haven't very much in the past couple of years or so. I still lurk though and read some of the threads. I see you constantly preaching about all the conspiracies in almost all of the threads, even the ones where it's not relevant, such as this one.

I'm talking to you because this is a forum, where people talk to each other.

Any other questions?

mtg says he hates the conspiracy theory threads. I contributed to them. He then basically says I used bullshit science. Now I remember mtg challenging me on some posts, but never on any of the scientific points of any conspiracy. So he wants to sucker post me. Act like he has, and then say, wrong thread. Well there is no thread that he will discuss it with me.

As for you, I don't remember you posting in any of those threads one way or another. So, for you to suddenly accost me with "I'm sick of hearing it" is rather misplaced.

What I'm sick of is trying to move dialogue along, but people refusing to acknowledge a point has been made and then persisting as if it hadn't.

That's not how productive debate works. You either successfully challenge a point or you accept that you were wrong. And then when issues which may deal with that same point reappear, you don't go over it again.

If you wish to shut me up, prove it, or you shut up. Mrs asked me to prove we can supply food for enough people, I did, he/she didn't challenge it, in the future I expect his/her dialogue to reflect that.

The "official" story is a conspiracy theory as well. It's a theory because it is unproven. So it's not a question of mtg not liking conspiracy theories, it's merely he only likes official unsupported government theories.

As for relevance, this is off topics.

Right, I haven't. But that's the thing with internet forums. It may seem as though whatever conversation is going on is only between the people conversing, but it's not. It's out there for everybody to read, whether they choose to comment or not. The entire world can see what we post in here.

So I suppose it may seem odd for somebody you've never had dealings with to say something like that to you, but I've been reading the stuff you post for, IDK, however long you've been posting it. I just usually don't bother posting in this particular forum anymore. So what seems to you to be an out of the blue comment is actually quite some time's (six months, a year? idk) worth of reading your stuff and finally getting so sick of seeing the same crap over and over and over. I finally just had to say something. I guess I'm kind of an asshole like that.

Make more sense now?

_sabotage_ wrote:As for relevance, this is off topics.

Sure, but this particular thread has nothing to with conspiracies, nothing to do with politics at all, and certainly nothing to do with 9/11, so why bother bringing it up? Just because somebody posts that they don't like conspiracy threads? It just seems like you're beating the same dead horse from up on your soapbox.

As for the rest of your post, irrelevant to the discussion at hand.

And anyway, I've said my piece. I'll go back to rarely commenting in here now.

tkr already covered it for me. But let me be a little more clear.
1. Read the topic of the thread.
2. Read my post.
3. Re-read the thread topic since your reading comprehension sucks.
4. Look at my join date. I had to deal with 4 years of conspiracy threads before you ever came here. So don't think I took the time to single you out and put you on a pedestal.
5. I am entitled to my own damned opinions on what I think are CC low moments. If you take it personal, that's your problem. Not mine.
6. Finally, as the Brits like to say "Now bugger off!"
"Eh, whatever."

Hmm, I think you posted that you felt I was attacking his reputation. My reading of it was that you felt that the issue was a potential threat to his credibility and should be ignored.

I did post that (a) he raped his slave (whether or not there is evidence she was "in love" with him) and (b) that did not otherwise tarnish his legacy as a person of great importance in United States history.

That seems like my position. Although I guess I would say that it does tarnish his legacy in some ways. It doesn't mean that his achievements are diminished, if that's a better way of phrasing it.
