In this particular issue, I would agree that I used poor judgement.
However, in the span of 3 days since internal memos about the PL have been leaked by:
metsfanmaxnietzchethegreekdogSo, the secrecy aspect isn't 100%, it totally isn't and never has been.
It seems people over-reacted because it had the potential to get someone in trouble. On a general note, I would say the only time a secrecy leak is ok is if it affects illegal activities. That may be a difference in perspective. Many in our society (North American) perceive the police as the enemy and the prevalent sense of justice is "it's only illegal if you get caught". My sense of justice is much simpler than that. I think it is the role of society to self-police. We only need the police as an extension of our own desires for security and fairness, and to remove some of the emotional nature of poor decisions. If you have to think about who is watching what you do (with the exception of anal banging someone in the presence of their mom, etc.) then you probably shouldn't do it.
To a certain amount of people, the scoreboard on CC is an important aspect of CC. It really still is the best marker of skill at RISK (as an overall set of games, rather than a particular ruleset) on the internet, despite our decline. Using some basic libertarian concepts of judgement, AoG's freedom to go towards 0 points negatively impacted the desires of those who want a fair scoreboard.
So here's the rub. I'm a Freemason, and there very much is a strict sense of privacy and secrecy with what we do. I take the privacy more seriously than most (many will share parts of the ritual with their wife or whatever). The lodge which I am master of is known as the cop lodge. We have 3 active cops in our lodge, as well as another dozen retired or inactive members who were/are cops. So, using my RL concepts of privacy and justice and how they interact, I came up with the decision. Unfortunately, it was tarnished by emotional forces, caused by tgd's totally ridiculous arguments, and my wringer of a week.
By the time this thread came around, I was no longer emotionally compromised and just trolling notyou2. A private message, about a private forum called "privacy" with the only contents of the message being about privacy demands to be made public, using #FacebookLogic.
So, I guess the question is: what happens going forward? I already gave my assurance. This is based on the assumption that nobody will admit to breaking the rules in the PL since everybody knows that the admins read that forum. And if you come to kill my wife, I will f*ck you up. I dare you. Bring it.
