A question of Fascism and Communism

Postby DoomYoshi on Sun Mar 08, 2015 12:59 pm

Is it any wonder that the years in which people stopped translating proper nouns, the gulags and world wars and the spread of creationism happened?

Before the 1900s, it was not unusual to hear of "Nicolli Niccolobi" by Cesaro Dickensi. Operas were translated into the language of the host country. Once that stopped happening, genocides started happening, as they should have.

f*ck the 20th century, right in the ass.

No, just ... no. Calling Christobal Colon - Christopher Columbus did not save the world.

On the other hand, the philosophies of the Age of Enlightenment, from Hobbes to Locke (and their Hobbelockean principles that developed) did result in such things as The American Revolution, The French Revolution, the American Civil War, the use of mass forced conscription to fuel armies, the economic conditions of crony capitalism that laid the foundations for the social progressive movements of Fascism and Communism, WWI, and then in turn WWII. So I think we should blame THOSE TWO.

SIEVE, SIEVE, SIEVE, SIEVE, SIEVE, SIEVE, SIEVE, SIEVE,
IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!
IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!

Pfft! Both of you are wrong! It was the Machine Age, with the invention of the automobile, that sent the world down the crapper!

Horse drawn carriages for the win!
"Eh, whatever."

Naah it was the damned printing press that did it. People thinking they can all read and know stuff. If everyone just admitted they don't know anything we'd all get along much better!
