Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD)

Postby KoolBak on Thu Apr 30, 2015 11:55 am

Symptoms:

People who are diagnosed with a narcissistic personality disorder are characterized by exaggerated feelings of self-importance. They have a sense of entitlement and demonstrate grandiosity in their beliefs and behavior. They have a strong need for admiration, but lack feelings of empathy.

Do we need a poll on who this describes?

I started composing a list to suggest, but it was over 20 names in no time.

I decided it would be a lot easier to just make a list of OT regulars who don't have NPD.

That's about it, lol. The other 25 or 30 of us definitely DO suffer from this disorder..:D

Some people here might be more histrionic(attention whore) than narcissistic.

Totally agree with mister waauw. That's because he's from Belgium, and in Belgium you make sense & waffles.

If you guys have met people in real life with NPD, I doubt any of the epenis contests, trolling, need to have the last word on a particular discussion, need to make your opinion prevail on someone else's you disagree with, and all type of social behaviours we can encounter on this forum qualify as abnormal in comparison with the general population.
If people are going to give their honnest opinion about religion, politics, or any other sensible subject, and these people come from all the different regions of the world, you can expect a large spectrum of opionions, disagreements and arguments without qualifying these behaviours as narcissistic.

Please provide examples and and an argumentation to your statement other than "he often disagrees with me and I'm butthurt".
I m totally ok with your different opinions and beliefs, but somehow you act as if it was something personal. While I can notice our huge cultural differences sometimes... you seem to consider it narcisism. Therefore, you probably have empathy issues when you discuss with people from other cultures. Precisely what you seem to be acusing me of lacking of.
