Actually, you have attained Level 1 of the secret knowlege on that.

Level 2 is this: While the published lyrics are "kiss the sky", Hendrix was well aware that some people misheard it as "kiss this guy." In concert, he sometimes took this element and played it out for laughs, singing "kiss this guy" and kissing Noel Redding at that point.
