Unfortunately for you there are many well known chefs that would disagree with you. A local very well known Asian American fusion chef who has a restaraunt here in the Boston area uses one all the time and was the one who suggested i purchase one myself. Because perfecting rice isn't easy if you are trying to make it to exacting standards...
I guess it depends on your level of standards....I'm not saying your rice is awful but I bet it's not considered "perfect" by culinary standards.
