When i read Bakunin in my youth he had a thought about the apple thingy in paradise ...
something like this: before Eve ate the apple man had no free will they were slaves under god worshipping him/her/it without the ability to choose to or not. Satan gave man, by the apple thingy, free will and the freedom to choose ... therefore Satan is the first revolutinary and the saviour of man... god on the other hand only wanted obediant slaves ... he even put em out after it...

not saying right or wrong here but as a thought experiment it got some merits O:)

Satanism believes that Lucifer gave humans free will and knowledge, much like Prometheus brought us fire. Satanists value the pursuit of knowledge and liberty above all else.

If i remeber correct Shaitan were some kind of persian fertility god or some such who got blamed for like everything! But yeah REAL satanist are kind of nice guys evil satanist ...are not that is thoose who dont get it!
