I actually found the credit card thing an interesting read, because it makes so much sense. Marketing is bound to get better and better with all the digital means, it only seems obvious that the advertisements you look at are at the financial level you can afford. It's the exact same thing as 'acquaintances'-recognition on FB, so I'm not really that surprised anymore.

Interesting thread, J-Blomb

Before getting my CA teaching credential, I had to do 150 hours of intern/observation at various high schools before even being allowed to student teach. I spent 40 of those at West Hills High School in east county San Diego...about a week.

The guy who was the "chair" of the social sciences department was who I spent the most class time observing during that week. Never met him again in my whole life - no exchange of any information. He just signed off on my paperwork to verify that I was present.

Just this past week Facebook has a message, asking me if I know this same guy and to confirm as friend. Wut?!!
