i played that game for hours upon hours, but I will say, as far as the Bond "series" goes, huge fail. How do you go from Goldeneye, the most prominent first person shooter at its time, and nose dive into first person obscurity?

*edit - Perfect Dark was the true sequal to that game by the way!

Agreed that GoldenEye was the only good one, unless of course you count perfect dark which was an underrated one by far. The only game that even holds a candle as far as addictive-ness was maybe smash bros. That game was disgusting at making time blur lol.

FF1-Pioneered the RPG genre
FF4-class systems????
FF6-considered one of the best games of all time...
FF7-3D, revolutionized gaming! (also chocobos)
FF Tactics-amazing
FF8-THE CARD GAME!
FF10-unreal graphics (for its time)
FF12-its so big (despite the terrible charaters)

Since then its gone downhill, but with the announcement of an FF7 remake I am hopeful

The easiest answer is mario just because, with the exception of the 64, those games have always been fun. I'm very behind but I did borrow a wii and mario galaxy was great.

But best series ever? probably final fantasy

I only played 1,2,3 7, 8, and 9 but those last three at the time I was playing them beat out my nostalgia love for zelda so I gotta honor that.

I'm a fanboy for the Half-Life series, but until gaben finally delivers the product, I don't know that I can say it's the best series.

Several video game series stand out, depending on what genre you like:

-Command & Conquer franchise (A true standard for strategy games, has a great storyline that continues throughout all of it's games.)

-Pokemon (Not as childish as it appears, it is simply a very good concept to play and enjoy. Lacks innovation to be awarded as 'best, but should still be mentioned).

-Grand Theft Auto (I cannot understand GTA hasn't been mentioned here)

-Final Fantasy (despite several lacking parts, has always been setting the standards for graphics and gameplay).

I feel like the most deserving games have already been named(super mario, GTA, Final fantasy, Crash Bandicoot), but just some honorable mentions as some of these games truely were groundbreaking games in their genre:

• Total War
• Civilization
• The Sims
• Call of Duty(though this is mostly mentioned due to popularity)

lol...yup...played the shit out of Doom on the PC...and all those "Quest" games...Kings Quest, Space Quest...oh, the awesome graphics and seamless play....lol

My kids spent endless hours playing Fallout and all the variations....

I would agree with this if the series had stopped after Red Alert (the first one). Once EA took over Westwood, the quality went way down. If you're looking for the best consistent quality across the entire franchise for at RTS series, I'd say it's a tough call between Warcraft and Starcraft.

My vote for best video game series ever would have to be Zelda. I recently started introducing my 5 and 6 year old kids to some of the early Zelda games, and they're enjoying them as much as I.

Wow, I forgot about most of these. My brother and his friend would allow me to watch them play wolfenstein if I let them fart on my head.. It looked pretty cool until they kicked me out of the room. At least they seemed to be enjoying it.
