lol uh, no. The Speaker of the House is not going to influence next year's presidential election. I can't even give you a "nice try" for that effort.

Wait for the battle ahead for Speaker of the House. Any shut down that may happen in December, can have grave consequences on the US economy and the Republican Party. The Tea Party faction does not believe in compromises.

nah... that isn't even how it works. The Republican party chooses who the speaker is, and after stripping the Tea Party of their seats on various committees I hardly think they are going to hand us the #3 in line to the presidency.... The Republicans have even joined with the Democrats against the Tea Party to keep the patriot act alive and pass the NDAA (probably the only bipartisanship we've seen in years) there is no way the Republican party would pick a Tea Partier. Even more important than any of that, most of the time if not all the time, seniority is the main factor. There are good boy Republicans who have been putting party before country for 30-40 years (but, hey...at least they compromise, right?) that are likely to be on the short list, compared to those who have had their seats since the 70's the TP is still in pre-school. and it's not even about compromising... principles are not open to compromise and if they were there would be no such thing as principles. nor would that matter anyways because even they did compromise then you would just be ripping the TP for being hypocrites and voting against the platform they were elected on. If you must watch cable-news, remember that all things are fine n dandy when in moderation ;)

On a personal note to Boehner, HEY HEY HEY, GOODBYE! I'm only sad that we couldn't primary his bitch ass before he could retire. and don't forget to suck my phat one you piece of fucking shit corksucker pig ass mother bitch!

Next up...

The above post shows the ugliness of the infighting in the Republican Party. The thinking of the few who think Senator Lindsey Graham as not being conservative enough is mind numbing.

In 1956, the Republican Party was proud that under Eisenhower, “unions have grown in strength and responsibility, and have increased their membership by 2 million.” Today, Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham said that abolishing the National Labor Relations Board, the federal agency in charge of protecting the rights of workers, would be considered “progress.”

And back in the 1860's, it was the Democrats that were pro-slavery. My point is that it's completely nonsensical to go back decades in time and compare platforms as if the political party in question will be wholly unchanged. Do you have any point to your statement?

Of course what is mind numbing is you are defending someone by implying they are Conservative enough and taking a swipe at a person for pointing out he is without doubt one of the most if not the most Liberal Republicans in the Senate. but then again I understand you are a Bernie Sanders fan and therefore its likely your views and perceptions of what a Conservative is not objective and is based on negatives/what you don't like.

Time will tell if you are one who posts about what you like and believe in and try to make the case to persuade/inform others, or if you take the easy path to the dark side and posts mostly/only about what you hate and what everyone else should have and try to persuade people to hate.

I'm very proud that the Republican party is extremely diverse and has room for all kinds of people with all kinds of ideas. I'm extremely proud that the Tea Party is the only thing in modern history that could cause the incumbent re-election rate below 90+% and I am extremely proud that in America it is still true that if you don't like the fact many/most seats are held for life or if you don't like the way a party is doing things then you can be elected as a grass roots citizen with little to no money and I love demonstrating that money doesn't buy elections every time and you don't have to be a rich lawyer from an ivy league school. What you call ugly infighting, I call beautiful Democracy. I call it debate on the issues, holding politicians accountable, letting them know their seats are not thrones and sending a wake up call that people can't be ignored to instead serve special interests. it's not infighting at all, it's cleaning house btw of which only 6-8-10% approve of? Uh, why in the world wouldn't you expect a power struggle or a shake up? And I would bet you have spent at least a decade ripping Republicans for being phonies, and then when they get their buts kicked you see that as a bad thing??? They don't do what they were elected to do, they SHOULD go! Republicans are shaping up, focusing on being accountable and having their feet held to the fire by their own party.

America is still waiting for the Democrat party to START shaping up, to stop burying future generations in debt, to stop squandering opportunities of the future and replacing it with compounding interest on a debt so massive nobody even thinks it could possibly be paid off, yet Democrats are gonna vote for a guy like Bernie Sanders who is hellbent on mortgaging the future and letting someone else pay off the debts because you want your free shit now? The Tea Party is SERIOUS about balancing the budget and reducing debt, SERIOUS about limiting the out of control borrowing and spending, Serious about cutting the growth of a morbidly obese government. THAT is why the government gets shut down, because the rest seem to think it's okay to saddle the future with debt and problems when in reality it's the most unfair and the most greedy thing in existence.

THAT is the ultimate ugliness. THAT is how we know who cares about the future, and who is like 'f*ck em, i'll be dead anyways' I got news for ya, you will be alive, and it will happen much sooner than you think. And the people who you burden with this debt, the people who had no say and did not get to spend a single dime on what you thought was best for them, the people you expect to make the interest payments for you out of their paychecks, they are going to confront you, and you will not be able to simply remove the red bandana from your neck, and while no doubt you are busy trying to blame Republicans for everything, it's gonna be the integrity of the Tea Party that proves who fights for Americans, and it will prove who view their fellow Americans as credit cards to be charged up and for them to pay off.

Good luck :D

We should go back decades and see what works and what does not.

The Republican Party is diverse? Really?

The failed economic policies of "trickle down economics" which is still embraced today by Republican candidates as the holy grail.

"...for 40 years, the American middle class has been disappearing. Millions of people are working longer hours for lower wages despite a huge increase in technology and productivity. And what we have seen during that period is a massive transfer of trillions of dollars from the middle class to the top one-tenth of 1 percent of America — massive wealth and income inequality, where you have 99 percent of all new income today going to the top 1 percent."

I predict any response might include something about 'Republicans' ' cold-war' '1880's'

You might want to add some flavor for Bernie. Like '20th century Socialism is responsible for more human deaths than all religious wars combined since the beginning of time'

Typical uneducated Republican response, using National Socialism and Communism to taint Democratic Socialism of today.

No need to argue with these guys Bernie , the tea party can be summed up just from watching the clown show Trey Gowdy and the rest of the wingnuts put on a couple of days ago when they interviewed the head of planned parenthead. What a dazzling display of idiots.

and oh so wise to judge the intelligence of total strangers based on a political difference. But I might guess anyone who doesn't see politics the way you do is uneducated, because of course you have it all figured out and there is now way it's possible another could have different background and experiences, come to a different conclusion or had a different perhaps even much bettre education, different values and principles and priorities, right?

Socialism is Socialism, and when people start trying to say 'but this Socialism is different this time!' and 'Socialism works, it's just never worked before because they didn't do it right!' is when we REALLY need to keep an eye out
