I have a few stories like that. My mother collects old junk, and there was this old shovel with the original wooden handle. As a kid I was dicking around with it and broke the handle. I placed it back with the handle sitting on top so it looked whole, and there it sat for years until my mom moved it after some renovations. She thought she broke it, and I never fessed up, even though I'm puportedly an adult. Haha, never catch me!
