Most godforsaken countries in the world

Postby mrswdk on Thu Oct 08, 2015 3:56 pm

Countries which have any number of major cities on the list of the 50 most homicidal cities in the world

1. Brazil (19)
2. Mexico (10)
3. Colombia (5)
4= USA (4)
4= Venezuela (4)
6. South Africa (3)
7. Honduras (2)
8= El Salvador (1)
8= Guatemala (1)
8= Jamaica (1)

Drug cartel turf wars, ferocious poverty and/or high concentration of Americans - stay away from these countries.

Bernie is acting like the perfect politician, ignoring the problem and just throwing dirt.

The China throws environmentalists in jail. The very lax rules on Industries that dump untreated wastes into waterways and pollute the air with toxic smoke is no secret. This is State sponsored homocide on the citizens.

You words might hold some value if your own country at least cared about the environment. For a developed country, the US is horribly lacking in its environmental attitude.

Isn't Belgium phasing out nuclear energy, yet your energy demand has increased pretty steadily since 1990?

You are right. America does need to improve on it's own environmental record. We have to many politicians who are bought out by special interests.

The United States must lead the world in tackling climate change, if we are to make certain that this planet is habitable for our children and grandchildren. We must transform our energy system away from polluting fossil fuels, and towards energy efficiency and sustainability. Millions of homes and buildings need to be weatherized, and we need to greatly accelerate technological progress in wind and solar power generation.

Unless we take bold action to address climate change, our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren are going to look back on this period in history and ask a very simple question: Where were they? Why didn’t the United States of America, the most powerful nation on earth, lead the international community in cutting greenhouse gas emissions and preventing the devastating damage that the scientific community told us would surely come?

Yes. Our socialist party, does what socialist parties do best, wishful unrealistic daydreaming. They got rid of nuclear energy and somehow thought Saint-Nicholas would magically provide them new alternatives...
Nevertheless, I fail to see your point. Even still Belgium is far ahead of the US regarding environmental issues, despite our much smaller options.

And how is it so surprising our energy consumption has risen since 1990? Our population has grown by more than 10% since then.
